The final boss of Tales of Phantasia (SNES) is sooooooo....damn....tough!! I hate that thing!! I eventually had to resort to an Infinite HP Code to win, and even then, it was super tough! I NEVER wanna fight that thing again!

Ninja Gaiden's 1 & 3 end bosses crushed my soul and haunted my nightmares for ages. I felt obligated to beat these games in order to free myself from the shame of failure.

Probably one of the most frustrating bosses I have ever fought was the Biolizard in Sonic Adventure 2. I swear it felt like that boss was conceived to take advantage of every single bug, control and camera issue in the entire game. I screamed myself hoarse while fighting that bastard.

Oh and Vamp from Metal Gear Solid 4; fought him at around midnight and my windows were open so I was whisper screaming at the TV and I actually threw my controller during it. I have NEVER thrown a controller while playing a game and I played through Jak II and Sonic 06.

Ugh, I got pissed at the Second (?) stage boss. That old fart that teleports in his box of Chinese Food. I could never do much damage to him, he always runs away, and he recovers. Fuck Shinobi for the PS2.

I've been playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma again. While most of the bosses are piss easy, Doku (all three times I fought him) is a son of a bitch. You're hardly ever able to hit him (your attacks just bounce off), when you can hit him, you can't wail on him for very long (making the boos fight very, very slow), and his attacks do ridiculous amounts of damage. What really pissed me off was after the fight with Ghost Doku,
he puts a curse on you, turning you into a fiend. Do you get wings? No. Do you get claws? Nope. How about razor sharp teeth? Of course not, that'd be kinda cool. Your skin turns blue. That's it. What really pisses me off is that I just know that you fight him again.[/spoiler if you give a shit] Alma was frustrating too, but at least you could knock her out of the air and beat down on her. This game is really pissing me off, I'm probably going to make a rant thread after I beat it.

A frustrating retro game boss for me was the Stage 6 boss in Metal Storm. It's three "cubes" that move along the four sides of the screen that you have to jump on (if you touch to floor or ceiling, you die) and destroy the cores. This boss for me was such a pain in the ass, in Stage 6. In the second half of Stage 6, you don't get a Power Wave upgrade (which doubles the damage of your blaster), s the boss fight takes twice as long. In Stage 7, you have a boss rush, when I fought the Stage 6 boss again, I have the Power Wave and fucked the boss up in under a minute.

Meh, he's nothing compared to Dracula in Castlvania III. At least when you get a game over you don't have to go through the entire stage to get to Dracula again. That being said, Dracula (and Death, for that matter) did give me difficulties in Castlevania, and there were a few bosses I had trouble with in IV (and pretty much every boss in III because that game is insanely difficult).

But for the record, I'm pretty sure this is the toughest boss in any Castlevania game if you don't have an FAQ:Image

The game thus far has been relatively easy. There have been a few challenging parts, but as a whole I haven't had too many problems with it. That is, until now...

The final boss in this game is a CHEATING BASTARD!

This game is a turn-based RPG that involves timing your button presses to avoid enemy attacks or to make your attacks more powerful. Now, I can avoid 90% of this sonofabitch's attacks, but it seems that whenever I'm doing particularly well against said boss, it proceeds to launch a super powered version of an attack that will wipe out both Mario AND Luigi in one fell swoop. Sometimes I can dodge it, sometimes I can't... RARGH!

I've put approximately 16 hours into the game so far, and spent maybe another 3 trying to beat this unholy monstrosity of a boss.
HOLY SHIT.

I've been playing this game recently too, and I've spent about a week fighting the final boss. The fact she has such ungodly HP compared to everybody else makes things worse.

This made my day. I can't stop laughing now.
Wow, people actually had trouble with this boss? I had no trouble at all; in fact, I was able to beat the boss on my first or second try.

Now, speaking of difficult GBA RPG final bosses, I had a seriously tough time beating the final boss in Megaman Battle Network 4. The guy's attacks take up the whole screen! how are you supposed to move out of the way? Oh, and the secret bosses are just a joke. They appear randomly, so you have to beat them in about under 30 seconds. Now, these bosses are WAY harder than the final boss, and you expect me to beat them in UNDER 30 FREAKIN' SECONDS?! That's just sick! Even with cheat devices, I really think it's impossible.
