I think that comparison will get you in trouble! XD

I said precursor. It is not as good as the VS series (which I enjoy quite alot), but it has similar feel. Atleast to some of us not hardcore fighter fans.

As I think about this, there are actually a few examples that come to mind. Rival Turf and its sequel Brawl Bros. were both pretty bad, but still enjoyable beat-em-ups.

I always thought the flying fish robots of Darius were a stupid running theme, but it was a decent shmup.

Parodius was a self-aware bad shmup that made fun of a few 80s videogame cliches. It was fun to play and totally ridiculous.

Pretty much any Full Motion Video style game fits the bill since most of them actually look like bad movies. Night Trap, Sewer Shark, etc.

Well if you consider the bad voice over acting which makes a great "B Movie" feel of the game:

Dreamcast House of the Dead a great Lightgun game:

I remember liking most games when I was a little kid; like Spider-Man and the Sinister Six for the NES; Rise of the Robots for the SNES.

As for current; I feel like I should be in video game players anonymous for this one:
My name is VincentX and I play Sonic 2006...PLEASE HELP ME!

I enjoyed playing both sides of Devil May Cry 2. It is one of the few PS2 games that I paid full price for. Apparently it was universally panned judging by comments on the internet. Dante's deadpan voice acting and gameplay that were claimed to be too divergent from the original DMC seem to be the chief complaints. Even CAPCOM found fault with it (poor sales probably) and does not freely acknowledge that it produced the game.

I remember it being speculated that it wasn't actually Dante in Devil May Cry 2. There was a theory or something about it being Enzo because they always refer to him as something other than Dante, i think the sword or the guns are different, and in Viewtiful Joe, when Dante is questioned about the events of Devil May Cry 2 he claims to have absolutely no knowledge about it. I think that was Hideki's doing. It's amusing the lengths it was stretched to to try and disassociate it from the Devil May Cry universe. I'll have to pull it out of the box set and play it finally to see for sure.

me and my friends sometimes do this. I was at my mate's house a couple of weeks ago and we pulled out Carmageddon 64. Our other friend who was there hadn't ever witnessed it before and we had many laughs marvelling at the completely broken physics engine, terrible graphics, character models and names - and also, someone made the observation that the title screen "music" sounds like someone standing in an office shredding paper (it does  )

Other times we've played Scooby-Doo (N64) and Home Alone (PS2). We thought Scooby-Doo was the worst game on N64 but Carmageddon 64 changed our minds.

Home Alone: Such a ghetto piece of shovelware that I can't even find it on Youtube

Me and a friend of mine actually completed Back to the Future III for Mega Drive. He absolutely refused when i suggested that we should try and beat Pit Fighter afterwards though! XD
