My Saturn is chipped and I have an AR+ and STKey for imports. I would advocate getting a cart instead of hacking a hole and having to fiddle with switches if that's that what you're getting at.
I remember a while ago someone was complaining that emulation and backups were being used as the answer to many responses about the price of games. I thought that was you.

Unless someone sprinkled crack on my breakfast that day, I don't think it was me. If its an old OOP system with rare games that go for stupid prices, I don't have a problem with it.
