Jaguar Game Suggestions
Re: Jaguar Game Suggestions
I would get Tempest 2000 even if you have to pay little extra on top of that 20 dollar certificate. Hardcore retro gamers buy Jaguar just to play Tempest 2000.
There is Typhoon 2001 for PC a free remake which will give you an idea:

I bought a boxed Jaguar about 6 years ago for $25. Of all the consoles I own it's the only one which NEVER gets any playtime. Just looking at the controller makes me want to put the whole thing away.
On the other hand my Lynx is currently experiencing some serious use. Switchblade 2 rocks!

Look into Syndicate, Theme Park, and Cannon Fodder. The first one is a future strategy type game, the second is a theme park sim of course, and the third is actually one of my favorite games for the system. Its got little people shooting things and all kinds of crazy shit. As stated above, Wolfenstein is awesome, Doom is also done very well, I always thought Alien vs Predator was overrated for the price, but I still bought it.

Cannon Fodder, Theme Park and Syndicate are great games but they all play much better with a mouse and so there are better ways of playing them rather than the Jaguar's telephone joypad.

The Jaguar version of Theme Park has no music too, there are better ports.

Really? But does it live up to the ST (yes I know it's a home computer). What homebrew is available for it? Not music demos that's for sure.fastbilly1 wrote:Jaguar has a pretty active homebrew community.

Pulstar Ill have to pull up the links when I get home. I know they released a couple dozen games over the year. Most ports of other titles - tetris, asteroids, etc, but some new ones. One where you pilot a futuristic helicopter through a city that looks stunning for a Jaguar game - its name eludes me.
