Tried that. It didn't work either. It might be that the game I'm trying to burn isn't compatible with the Goldstar Model, so I'm gonna try a different game.

post if it works out for you. that's probably the model i'll pick up. everything i've been reading is the goldstar is picky about backups, but can play them.

Is it strictly coincidence that my Goldstar that has been on amazon for sale for half a year all of a sudden sold a few hours after this thread appeared? Anyone here my customer?
The web's first video game public library! http://videogameexperiment.com rents all games for free and sells them for less than Ebay and Amazon! Plus we take anything in on trade-in.

Did a burned Audio CD work?

Looks like your Goldstar doesn't like CDR's if it won't even play a burned audio disc. Internal tweaking laser Pot setting is a risk of burning up laser, maybe a GOOD QUALITY CD type of cleaner might help?

The laser is fine. It reads legit Audio CDs.

CDRs reflect less light back than a real pressed disc, so they're harder to read. This is why there's always discussion about tweaking the laser power in relation to mods and such and reading burned discs.

Do you know how to tweak laser power?

Without consulting Mr Google, no. I've never done it to any of my systems.
