the ipad is a joke and apple fanboys are already drooling over it. what the fuck more does it have over a netbook that costs 300$ or a laptop at 500$? I know some people said form factor and a few more will say portability, but isn't the iphone supposed to be just that? and really the touch keyboard sucks. even the people with iphones for a long time can't type fast with that thing.
I beg to differ, I can type faster on my iphone than any other mobile phone I've owned. I'd 'type' much faster if I could use iditdah, but alas I don't know morse code.
Also, I like Apple and most of their products but I just don't get this, it seems pointless. Think I'd rather have a more gaming-centric iphone or something, or at least if it was a tablet-macintosh, have it run a touch interface friendly version of OS X. This just doesn't seem good or of much use at all. I'm probably not the target-demo.

I fall into the same boat Niode.
Anyway, my iPhone has served me well, and if it does fail to do something in the future, I'm sure I could just jailbreak it and have it do whatever I need to.
from what I understand jailbreak means hacking it? ah these wonderful corporations that are afraid of losing 5$ a year from us and end up pushing us to piracy even more.

I really like Apple products but this was a bit underwhelming. It really is kind of an iPod Touch XL. With 3G, it will be pretty cool as a light computing device but without Flash, memory card inputs and the ability to install programs like Firefox, it's not a real computer. Still, once the price goes down and native apps start coming out, it will look better and better.
Our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price
That makes the internet tough guy in me want to punch the marketer that wrote that sentence in the face. I mean 'magical'? Really?
well.... when it really doesn't do anything that the iphone can't do.... what the fuck do you say about it? Magical. It is magical.
Did you watch the promo video? IT conforms to YOU. YOU don't conform to IT! Here i've been conforming to resistant technology for god knows how long. Finally a device that will just do what i'm thinking. Wait... i still have to type? and tap? Like I've been doing? Oh... you put the same shitty accelerometers in it that i hate in my iphone only you made the device bigger so that it is more unwieldy when it auto turns when i don't want it to. Fantastic. You sold me.

exactly. Showing us a computer without features and telling us it is revolutionary. Fuck that.
Well now I'm really curious to see what comes after this. I think that we're running out of revolutions to have with technology at its current state. One thing I know for certain though is that it'll be white and shiny.
I wonder if this uses the Revolutionary "humming bird battery" that allows up to 10 Minuets between charges?
It looks like a fat guy sat on an Ipod touch.
