Some people are criticizing your Arcade Room, no worries. I think you have a great SYSTEMS BEING USED collection. Your house, do what you want and have fun.

This isn't just directed at some of the comments in this thread, but overall from reading comments in other game rooms threads. You know what? Not everyone has the same ideal game room. Personally I think this room looks like a lot of fun, a lot more fun than some of the perfect organized rooms that look like no one actually plays games in. Like someone said, do you remember what an arcade was like? This reminds me of one of the houses I lived in while at college(well, we didn't have arcade games)but just a bunch of single guys hanging out having fun. I see a lot comments in these threads like you have to do this and that, you need to organize your games this way or that way. I don't know how many times I have read a thread where someone makes the comment those games should be in alphabetical order. Seriously people, worry about your own rooms, not everyone wants a pokemon poster in their game room.

Well said. But here's the problem: when we see other Racketeers' rooms, we invest a bit emotionally. And we want to fix what we think could use improvement.
Sounds like we have detachment issues :)

If you're posting your game room on here then except to be critiqued, game rooms are serious business and as racket boy member we must remember this at all costs. Are lives depend on it!

Still, everyone's perception is different. If someone is going to trouble to share something it, should be praised not chopped up. This is not a contest, but just the sharing of appreciation of Video Gaming.

Japhei, you have an tremendous collection worthy of a small arcade.

I'll list your Arcade again for the critics:

Street Fighter 3 Third Strike in big Blue CPS cab
Capcom Vs Snk 2 in Midway conversion cab
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 in Naomi USA cab
Espgaluda in Konami Windy cab (PS2,Xbox,Dreamcast)
Neo Geo 4 slot big Red cab (MOTW,Strikers1945,Baseball Stars 2,Metal Slug 3)

3" Samsung GX TV (HI-Saturn,Dreamcast)
17" Viewsonic 4:3 LCD (Dreamcast VGA)
27" Flat Tube RCA 4:3 CRT (Supergun,Saturn,Dreamcast)
34" Panasonic Tau 16:9 CRT (Wii,Xbox,Xbox360US)
42" Toshiba Regza 1080p 16:9 LCD (PS3,Xbox360US,HD-DVD)
34" Toshiba VGA 4:3 CRT (n64,Gamecube,PS1,PS2,Xbox360JP,Saturn,DC,Genesis w/ Sega Cd)

I envy you, not that many people can claim to have an Arcade machine in their house let alone 5 Cabinets and all those game consoles.

I still stand by my dusting comment. Having a lived in and well used gaming room is great, but dusting seriously takes less than 10 minutes for a medium sized room. And since I havent done it in a while, it is one of the reasons I dont have images of my home office/gameroom up on the site...

Japhei what is the model of that RCA tv and what do you have it propped on? Or is it just lying on its side completely.

It is On its side on top of a Dresser

It is a model # 27f520t RCA Tru Flat with component input 4:3

Believe it or not I found it out in the rain and let it dry out 6 months and then tried it and it was good to go.

I think some of you must have forgotten what arcades were like. Arcades are supposed to be filthy. That's part of the arcade experience! The cabinets should be covered in cigarette burns and pizza grease. The arcade room should smell like smoke, dust and sweat. There should be a seedy-looking, tattooed vagrant working the front counter. There should be nachos spilled on the floor and cola residue on the monitors. In the late eighties and early nineties I must have gone to a hundred arcades, and not one of them was clean.
That's why nobody goes to the arcades anymore.

Japhei has a great collection, everybody agrees on that.
If everything was clean, that would be awesome, like it is now, it is greatly great.
everybody likes to have things neat and organize, it just takes time that's all, and it does not have to be the top priority for everyone, we can live with that.
I will trade my organized space for Japhei's one any day. And then I'll clean it.
