Why is anime synonymous with gaming?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Historically, most videogames have come from Japan, as does anime. Gamers have always been more likely to be exposed to anime than the general public because some games have anime artwork or because trying to follow the latest gaming info from Japan leads you to run across some anime related stuff. Anime will then stand out more to a gamer when they have the opportunity to see it. Gamers are just about the only people in the US that anime gets marketed to. It then follows that the largest market of anime fans in the US is probably people that play videogames.

Or maybe gamers are just man-children with a stunted maturity that keeps them playing with high tech children's toys, watching cartoons, and eating too much sugar. :P

And somehow, fashion aside, Germans seem to get somethings right:

He is one of those very, very rare people who can get away wearing capri pants because of his RC SR-71.

For me this is very true. My two favorite things in life are video games and anime. Like others have said, they go together because they are both Japanese. Well, I guess video games are more American nowadays but I don't have as much interest in those.

I would be 100 times more likely to buy something like Inazuma Eleven for the Nintendo DS than I would Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for the XBOX 360.

I am also a huge fan of futanari hentai. For a bisexual otaku like myself, it's like a match made in heaven.

Well, that came completely out of left field. Not that I'm offended or anything by that particular brand of hentai(although I personally can't stand it), just that I don't even know what was the trigger for such a statement to be made.

Why not just watch real porn? They have real versions of that...sort of. I don't want to get into this again but I do not get the cartoon love. Oh well.
