Mine would be...

Everquest. Who knows? Three years worth of 12-18 hour days.

Neverwinter Nights on a PW. Only about a year.

For a non-MMO...

Fallout 3. I think it is at 140 hours and I have not done any of the DLC content yet.

1. Counter-Strike. I played it for... what, about a decade? Seriously, I played this shit a lot.

2. Ragnarok Online. At the time, it was one of the most affordable MMORPGs and it also didn't tax my computer. Then, I found a high-quality free server, and I played on it for about a year.

3. I'd imagine the third would be a fighting game... I just don't know which fighting game. Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Vampire Savior, Guilty Gear XX, Capcom vs SNK 2, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Samurai Showdown 2 and King of Fighters XI have all gotten a ton of play time from me. I just don't know which would actually be the one to have more playtime than any other.

It could also be Chrono Trigger. A short RPG, but I was one of those crazies that played it enough times to get 99 Black Stones.

This thread is crazy. I've been playing games since I was about three years old, but I don't think I've ever put more than about sixty-five hours into a game. And even that was like one or two games ever. Normally it's somewhere between twenty and thirty for a game I like.

I guess I played Xenogears and Okami the longest, just because they're long games, but the games I feel like I've played the most over the years in proportion of the length of the games themselves are Syphon Filter 2, Shadow of the Colossus, and maybe Gunstar Heroes.

Stepmania/ DDR extreme- last year during the Summer when I first bought my metal DDR pad Ive been playing DDR games on PS2 for about 6 hours a day on and off in 2008. At the beginning of this year I stopped playing(not enough room), but recently I rearranged my room so now I started playing again, its Stepmania this time. I get tired after 20 minutes, so I'm not too good, but now I can play on standard mode at the arcade and get an A on a 6 footer, I couldn't do that last year.

Street Fighter 2:ce- I play this game a lot, but I didn't count how many hours. I played it on the Genesis and now I'm playing it on Kawaks.

Resident Evil 5- Ive played play probably about 3-4 hrs a day, I didn't count, but its not too much maybe about 100hrs.

In no order:

Final Fantasy 6 - I don't know how many hours I've put into this.

Team Fortress Classic - If you just say Half-Life and all its mods, it would easily rank number one. For about four years straight, I'd put in at the very minimum three hours of TFC a week. Before that...God only knows. I have no idea.

Final Fantasy Tactics - Maxed out the clock multiple times on this, so I couldn't say.

I've spent lots of time in other games, titles like Soul Calibur, Silent Hill 3, etc....I don't really know what else I could say.

Coming from a Final Fantasy XI player of six years, 8000 hours is even intimidating for me. And hell, Phantasy Star Universe is half as old. And that's just ONE of the two Phantasy Star games you mentioned. I've got about 266 days logged now (still much less than 8000 hours), alas, but I'd guess around 25-50% of those days were spent away from the computer, cumulatively. It's impossible to quantify accurately at this point.

Number two and number three are almost irrelevant compared to my number one. Nothing's even coming to mind, outside of other MMOs, which are still paltry by comparison. I imagine Beatmania IIDX or Pop'n Music will be contenders eventually.

Why the hell were you playing DDR for that many hours? I'd understand if you said rhythm games in general, or perhaps even just stepping games in general. But the one series alone? You never thought to graduate to In The Groove or Pump It Up or perhaps other Bemani titles, like Beatmania IIDX? I started plateauing in DDR after six months (well, when I was in better shape, anyway). I can't imagine 1,000 hours of DDR without getting bored out of my mind, nevertheless 3,500.

I set lofty goals for myself. In PSO and PSU, I was seriously trying to become the best in the world. DDR started off the same but eventually my goal changed to plain old exercise.

Nowadays I am playing Dungeon Fighter Online and once again, I play with the impossible goal of becoming the best Witch player, for both PVE and PVP. I don't buy gold from Chinese gold farmers, so this one probably is impossible. Nevertheless, the drive to keep improving keeps me playing. I've gotten pretty damn good in PVP recently, but I know there is plenty of room for improvement.

One last thing I really shouldn't share but I will anyway. Since I have a tendency to try my best and never give up, I often find myself collapsing from exhaustion when I play DDR. I don't even realize that my body is so overworked, and then I suddenly fall down and can't move my body for like 20 minutes. It's very painful and horrible and maybe I will give myself a heart attack one of these days.

Wait, it gets worse. Many times after I have collapsed from exhaustion I have gotten up and continued playing until I would collapse a second time. This usually forces me to stop for good because I will be seriously worried that I will die if I keep going. I know I need to stop doing this since it's bad for my health and I have been getting a little better lately.

Maybe I keep forgetting that I don't have infinite stamina like I used to, or maybe I just try too hard. By the way, the reason I use a picture of Rock Lee for my avatar is because he reminds me of myself -_-

I have spent over 100 hours on Civ 3.
I have spent 100's of hours on Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.
I have spent 100's of hours on Command and Conquer: Generals. I used to wake up early every morning, around 5 A.M., so I could get a couple of hours of C&C in before school. And on Saturday, I would wake up that early and play it for up to 4 hours.

That's dedication, and it sounds dangerous. You don't want to end up a news story like that guy that died from playing World of Warcraft for too many hours straight.
