Personally, I think Metal Slug 3 was an exercise in excess. That last stage is FRIKKING INSANE!!! I love Contra's more methodical gameplay too, Metal Slug can get pretty unpredictable.

Love the Metal Slug series though, but I have more fun with earlier installments than I do with MS 3.

Gunstar Heroes is its own thing. Yes, it's a run n gun game, but it does not play by the same genre rules as Contra or Metal Slug. Like any Treasure game ever does.

Very frikking insane! The level was epic, but it was hellish. As fun as it was, if I didn't have Free Play enabled in the Metal Slug Collection, my PSTwo controller would be broken right now.

Hmm, that's the first time I've seen someone saying they liked MS 1/X more than 3.
