I wasn't impressed w/ COD4, so I never played WaW, and doubt I will play this. I'm actually glad the eBay auction I "bought" COD4 from never shipped it, as I got 2 games, an EQ for my truck's stereo, and a Summit Racing shirt for my daughter with the Paypal refund.

I ended up borrowing it from my brother, beat it in a week, and gladly gave it back to him.

All of you that are talking about how short it is is forgetting one thing...this game was MADE FOR ONLINE PLAY. If you want a game with story that is FPS go play the first bioshock. Dont rag a game just for the fact you are more about a story than just having fun playing online. A story to me means jackcrap...that means ok I beat it now let me sell my 60$ game for 30....wrong, I would rather have something that I can play online for hours and hours with good support and non shitty servers.

As far as a clan name, I dont really know, so far I havnt had anyone really message me about even wanting to play...only 2 people that I know of so, guess it was a horrible idea. Oh well.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

Couldn't agree with you more on this.

As you mentioned in your original post, I suppose we don't need a name if it isn't going to be a 500+ user group. Just hit me up on psn, I'm online quite often when I'm not at work. My id is on my sig.

See, here's my problem. I hate playing FPS games on consoles. The only ones that I really ever got enjoyment out of for a console were released back in the N64 days. The PC is the place to play it for me, and for more than the keyboard and mouse.

But here comes Activision and Infinity Ward, wanting to shit on my parade. "Ho ho, silly PC gamers, what do you have that's different from console gamers?"

The ability to open up a command console and modify the gameplay, further increasing the lifespan of the game by adding new tweaks?

Gone.

The ability to add in new maps or other unofficial content, helping to create a vibrant community while also increasing the lifespan of the game?

Gone.

The ability to create dedicated servers, so that we can return to that server our friends all play on or our clan runs and play with folks we know, once again helping to build that sense of community?

Gone.

Massive server sizes so that it feels like you're stuck in the middle of a friggin warzone with constant explosions and firefights breaking out everywhere, so that no matter what you're doing, you're fighting?

Gone.

I understand their new system for running a game online, and I do think it's an interesting concept, but in the process they killed a lot of the reasons I play PC games. And I really want to know...does LAN play still exist? Is it even possible with their new system? Can someone with a PC version confirm?

And meanwhile, those console versions are getting game achievements, various special edition releases of the game, downloadable content for their Xbox 360s and PS3s. Is the PC getting any of this? What's left in our favor?

Keyboard and Mouse. That's pretty much it.

And one of the reasons I played Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was for the single player. The multiplayer was good and I had fun in it, but every now and again I'd run through the single player campaign on a harder difficulty, eventually finishing it on the highest, because it was pretty epic in my opinion. When I discovered Modern Warfare 2, I was actually far more interested in the single player game. Maybe the game is meant for online multiplayer, but with all the above, it's not what I was looking forward to. To make the single player game painfully short, well...I don't know, I think I'll just be avoiding the game for now. Maybe in a while, after prices come down, I'll pick it up. But not right now.

I can see what you mean, Ack. But for many people, the simplicity of the game is what makes it great.

I remember part 1...I love the ending...I dont want to beat this one yet until I get more practice in and just do it on the hardest level. I only played ANY part of the story the first night and that was it. I will hit you up on the psn right now, about to log on myself for some more ground wars.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

As far as I can tell the game does not support LAN matches. I have not seen anywhere to set one up.

I'm really enjoying the game. The campaign is short, a bit longer then COD 4's, but this was expected. The game has amazing set pieces, and more varied environments then 4.

And then there is special ops which gives you more single player content. Some of the missions are based off story missions but some are completely new.

It sucks they took out most of the things that make the PC versions really cool. I have COD WAW for the PC, (it came with my graphics card) and I really enjoy playing 40 player battles and playing custom maps.

That being said, the multiplayer in Modern Warfare 2 is excellent, I have it on the 360 and I'm having a great time with it. They changed the really annoying still like juggernaut and martyrdom, so those can only activate if you die 3 or 4 times in a row without getting a kill.

If anyone wants to play MW2 on 360 with me my gamertag is futuramaguy42.

I've been playing CoD since the first back in 2003-4ish. The best CoD is CoD:UO. The game had the most progressive multiplayer out of any of the sequels...

Still I played CoD2 competitively. It was a fun game and basically a highly polished(the weapon play was the best out of all cods) cod1 except with the lack of vehicles :S. Cod2 was easy to burn out on though...

Then they came out with cod4: an awesome game and proper transfer to modern era. I also played it competitively too.

Now mw2 has come out. I've played it and it is fun. BUT it is overrated as hell.
This is no 2nd coming or anything(Or maybe it is in the sense of a rehash?). Hell I love it, but to claim it to be the best game of decade is ridiculous. I definitely have to agree with the guy who said the game is arcade-ish. The ridiculousness of the add ons and the new kill streak system is fun but at the same time is limiting. Once the novelty of the new stuff wears off, it will probably suck. I mean come on, silenced shotguns and sniper rifles? The constant bombardment of predator missiles and helicopters? Riot shields that can't be shot through? They are cool now but once everyone and their brother has em unlocked its gonna be a spamish/whore of a game. I haven't played single player yet but I am sure its fucking awesome. IW has never been a let down in that aspect; besides being too short.

I could go on about this shit forever. So if you didn't read my atrocious rant I'll give you the gist of my take on the game:

Modern warfare 2 is an excellent game but it suffers from novelties that will probably ultimately make the game suck in about 2-3 months. So if you are looking for the next big multiplayer game this IS it.

P.S. I am a PC gamer and I think it is Bullshit what IW did to the PC version. I've been playing the 360 version and I hate analog sticks for aiming. Especially the whole aim assistance shit; it always fucks me up when ever I try to take a leading shot. I don't want to get started on why I hate xbox live so I'll stop here.
