I wasn't directing it you. Southern Hip Hop is something of an acquired taste. I just happen to love it. But trust me, MIDNIGHT MARUADERS is my favorite hip hop lp of all time. And I definitely wouldn't consider you close-minded, Luke. Nor can I fault you for not like "Lollipop" (though "Block Is Hot" is awesome ;)). Anyway, I understood yr opinion. There's just certain stereotyping and non-sensical statements that get made by other posters that is certainly close-mindedness that makes me not want to even bother having a serious discussion about music as an artform.

Didn't think it was directed at me, I was just trying to keep you in this thread, your opinion is valued.

This really sucks. I'm actually a big Lil Wayne fan and have all his albums. I actually really got into Wayne back in the day when Cash Money Millionaire's were on top of the game with Birdman, Mannie Fresh, B.G, Juvenile, and Turk back around 1997-1999.

It was directed at me, wasn't it?

For the record, I do understand that there are good hip hop artists out there, but my opinion of the genre as a whole won't change simply because of a select few artists. I appreciate music itself, and the focal point of rap music isn't the music but the vocal/lyrical content. Usually it's just some guy on a computer 'creating beats' with software specifically designed for that purpose. To prove my point, when's the last time you heard a rap song in an "odd" time signature like 5/4?

In other words, vocals don't interest me unless they're really good. I reserve the right to shit on music that calls itself music while having no focus on actual music. You read that correctly. I used the word music three times in that sentence because that's what hip hop is supposed to be. But, for the most part, it's not. It's usually just some guy reciting poetry on top of computer-generated drumbeats and sound effects.

Having said all that, wanna fight about it?

It was directed at you. Yes. Mostly because of the really stupid "d**k in the A**" crap you were spouting.

I agree that strangefamous puts out some very good and interesting stuff. I have pretty much everything Sage has ever done myself. And I don't really care if you like or dislike something. But comments such as the one I pointed out just make me feel like we're arguing at a junior high lunch table, which I have no interest in.

Try to find the track "Exagerated Joy" from the 2003 album THE WEATHER by Busdriver & Radioinactive with Daedelus.
