Koji Igarashi's expressed interest in making a new classic-style Castlevania

Titled Castlevania the Adventure ReBirth, this will be a return to the series' roots, meaning rather than featuring the Metroid-esque gameplay of more recent titles, the game will once again be divided into separate platforming action stages.

I think it's safe to assume that this is going to be more in the style of the NES versions than the newer GBA/DS ones.

Huh... well, there ya go. Why redo the first Gameboy game, though? I'm sure they'll do a good job... but why not redo 'vania I, II or, even better, III?

I agree. Castlevania 3 was my favorite NES version. I remember playing that game to the end when I was a kid. I would really love a rebirth of that one....but I don't mind this one either :D

Here's a picture of the gameboy: Castlevania The Adventure (released in 1989)

I was playing this yesterday. The control can use a little work, but other wise still FUN!

Latest details....

Konami has confirmed that the Castlevania the Adventure: Rebirth WiiWare title will be a remake of Castlevania: The Adventure, the first Castlevania to ever be released for a portable console (was released in 1989 for the Gameboy).

The WiiWare version will have completely redone 2D graphics and a new soundtrack.

The game is due out October 27th in Japan and will cost 1000 Wii Points. It is set for a "third quarter" release for the U.S.

I will be all over this game for sure! :D

Excellent. One of the ones with hard stages but easy bosses. I just played through the three Castlevania's for the Gameboy earlier this year, I cant wait.

No XEXYZ = epic fail

From their "review" of Life Force:
Or you can just skip the work and enter the Konami Code to get fully powered up in a matter of seconds.
I don't think that the idiot who wrote this even tried the Konami code on Life Force, let alone even played it in the last 20 years.

Awesome, count me in. Speaking of Rebirth's, how awesome would it have been in Contra Rebirth if you could play co-op with a friend online?

I didn't want to resort myself to calling myself "Lukey".
