This has absolutely zero to do with your ability to have children. And way to automatically go on the offensive and play the victim. Nobody cares if you're gay or not.Inazuma wrote:I'm bisexual. You need to stop attracting attention to yourselfInazuma wrote:I'm bisexual. If you think that being gay is wrong, I invite you to PM me with a reason why. This thread is not about your views on marriage or your sexuality! It's about a man who has suffered a great loss.
Re: lukemorse1's final video
Yes, that joke was probably not my best. Anyway, as was said, no offense was meant.
My two cents on this thread/topic:
We're all given a finite amount of time on this earth that seems to get squeezed all the more tighter as we age and gain more and more responsibilities that come with being an adult. Now, I firmly believe that having hobbies is healthy and rewarding part of life. Our hobbies define us in a sense, and definitely have a large say in how we spend our time.
The fun part happens when you add more people into your life--in this case, a significant other and family. I've always personally believed that to make any friendship--and especially relationship work--you really can't be selfish..at all. And that really is the "danger" if you will of having a dedicated hobby. To illustrate my point, I have friends who are musicians. Their hobby (music) is so intense and time-consuming, that they have to make a concerted effort to sort of pull themselves out of that creative state back to whatever their reality is. I really doubt for most gamers, that the hobby is *that* intense. However, in Luke's case, it very may have been.
To sum up, hobbies (video games) are awesome...they really are. But it's selfishness (which, by the way is not necessarily a bad thing), that really can poison a relationship. Relationships are all about give and take--and to give you do have to give up part of yourself in a sense. So I guess the point is, *do* have your hobbies and *do* have time for yourself. But geez, if you're in a relationship/supporting a family, remember what made you make that decision in the first place.

You're not gay, you're bisexual, and therefore it's not impossible for you to have kids. Even if you WERE gay, it'd still be possible for you to have kids.Inazuma wrote:I'm bisexual. It has nothing to do with it. So let's all push this derailed train back on it's tracks.
Re: lukemorse1's final video
I agree. The point is that Luke is an awesome guy, and a friend to all retro gamers, and he doesn't deserve all of this unhappiness shoved upon him, even if his actions may have been a root cause of it. Hopefully he and his wife can work things out, and Luke can make some positive changes in his life.
Re: lukemorse1's final video
Epic fail. I don't give a shit about this guy. Fuck him. If he was too stupid to let videogames ruin his life, he deserved it. No sympathy here. I'm kind of insulted that he thinks he can give us such obvious advice. If I did have loved ones, they'd be treated with the utmost respect, but since I don't, my attention will go wherever feels worthwhile.Niode wrote:Lol, fail.

I think it's a good cautionary tale, but I have no sympathy for the guy. I've never seen any of his videos and never heard of the guy until now (I tend to avoid random idiots plastering their faces on youtube), but based on the comments here it sounds like he wasn't ready for the committment getting married and raising a child entailed.
