Re: what other hobbies do you have?
I write and make music, produce bands, DJ, collect comics, watch anime, collect action figures and at one time: professional wrestling. I work on music far more than being a DJ now though and a bad neck prevented me from wanting to to pursue wrestling anymore.

I'm a film buff. My fave genre is horror, and my fave subgenres of horror are zombie (my faves are Return of the Living Dead, Video Dead, Zombie aka Zombi 2, and Dawn of the Dead original), slasher, J-horror and Italian gialli. My other fave genres are sci-fi and fantasy, but I also love comedy and some indie stuff. My fave directors are Gregg Araki, John Waters, Dario Argento and Lloyd Kaufman, to name a few.
I also read, though I really like sci-fi (partic cyberpunk), horror (mostly Clive Barker, but I recently started Pride and Prejudice & Zombies) and fantasy (Harry Potter and Sweep are my two current fave series). I also started reading Brett Easton Ellis' works, starting with "Less Than Zero", but I also have "American Psycho" and "Glamorama".
I also like comic books, board games, card games, anime, manga, various other things and I wanna get into DIY projects (like making lamps), get more adept at cooking (though I make awesome stuff already), and I wanna take up decoupaging, sewing (to make tote bags I can sell and use, as well as other things) and knitting (to make stuff to wear, sell and give as gifts). Basically, I wanna learn skills that I can turn into small-time moneymaking ventures.
And then there's some other projects, like:
* adapting L. Frank Baum's "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" into a play
* writing some literary anthologies (children's stories, horror stories, horror re-imaginings of fairy tales) and even some novels
* game-related modding
* building an arcade cabinet
* write/direct some films (one idea is a slasher film)

Re: what other hobbies do you have?
Typical geek things. I read a lot, play role playing games like Dungeons & Dragons or Call of Cthulhu. I've started playing more boardgames than I used to, but still no where near what certain friends are like. I do a little writing when I have the time, but none of it's ever been published anywhere. And there's always the Bujinkan, though I've had to take a break due to school/work/being poor.
I used to be really into comic books, but this tended to depend heavily on my available funds, and I eventually got fed up with the storyline coming out of my preferred company, Marvel. The ending of Spiderman's marriage was the last straw, and I quit reading them.
I'm also really into watching movies. I've been keeping track of what I watch, with a personal goal of 100 movies in 2009, starting January 1st. I'm way ahead of schedule, having watched 80 in the past 7 months. So yeah, roughly 1 movie every two days or so. My favorite genres are science fiction, film noir, action, and horror. I also really enjoy Chanbara, and it's helping to get me more into Westerns, which is a genre I haven't paid enough attention to while growing up.

I noticed the punk flyers packed with the games I bought from you. That's awesome. Decent punk music is hard to find in Eastern NC, makes me want to visit Philly again.IcKy99 wrote:i started a hardcore record label and distro, i play in a band called boneless, i ride my bike a lot, i skate pools and ditches on my 10" zorlac, mainly go to a lot of gigs collect records shit a punk does
On the side I own a small catering business, play hockey, play piano, and volunteer with Alzheimer patients. Oh, there's also my wife and dog that I love to spend time with.

I love sports and in particular Tennis. I used to be at a rating of around 4.0 -4.5. Played competitively for my province for a few years.
Other than that I love movies and in particular the western genre. Eastwood's my favorite actor.
Over the years I've collected a ton of dvd's and recently I've also started collecting movies on the old laser disc format. The quality of which is surprisingly very near and comparable to a dvd even though this technology was first released in the late '70's!

Working on cars, mostly Nissans and Hondas. I don't mean saving up and buying parts and having someone else installing them. I do ALL the work on both of my cars. All repairs and modifications. It is so relaxing, yet frustrating. Those who have the same hobby can understand.

Typical "geek" stuff...
Anime
Studying programming languages and a bit of coding here and there
Driving
and honing my Ninjutsu and Weapon skills
Abusive ex-military father, it happens I suppose.
Also, I have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with all hentai and ecchi.

I collect stuff I guess. But all of my collections are small like my video game collection. Bronze age Marvel Comics, hardcore punk records, sci-fi/fantasy/horror/post-apocalyptic movies, books of pulp authors collected works, western animation dvds and board games. I also paint miniatures for table top gaming, skate board and I really dig computers.
