I'd gladly give up all my facial hair. I have to shave daily to keep it looking sharp. My 5 oclock shadow comes in around 2pm. lol.

Please tell me you've at least got some orange glasses to wear from time to time.

Full grown beard. In high school I would just have sideburns to my neck. My girlfriend hates it.

When I'm working, I shave twice or three times a week. I try and keep an average level of respectability going through the use of ties. If I'm clean shaven, I won't wear a tie. If I need a shave, tie goes on. Seems to work. When I'm not working, I drop down to once a week or so.

As well as retro-gaming, I was also into retro-shaving for a while, and used an old 1940's Gillette Tech DE razor with Derby Extra blades. I wasn't very good at it, but it taught me a lot about how to shave, and now I've reverted to Mach 3s I'm getting a far better shave than I was before I started the experiment.

I wasn't taught to shave by my (full bearded) father, so I basically didn't know how to do it properly for years. Thankfully, the internet has provided where my dad failed.

Anyone who wants to shave better should watch Mantic's videos on YouTube, buy a shaving brush and some proper soap/cream (and stop using canned goo), do the barbershop prep and learn to do a four-pass shave. The results are astounding.

You may find it time consuming, but the shave lasts at least an extra 24 hours - it's that much better.

I never found any orange tinted glasses but I have clear and tinted glasses that look similar to his glasses. I think it would be best just to post a cosplay picture of myself wearing my beard a few years back. It's basically the same anyway.

I have been trying to thin out my beard a bit and make it more angular and streamlined to my jawbone. I used to grow it a little under my chin and jaw line but it just felt blotchy and made my face look rounder than it really was. I think the current shave I have gives me the look I want.

This is me as Hughes from Full Metal Alchemist in 2007. You can't see much of the beard there though..

I shave twice a week, mostly because I have incredibly awkward hair growth patterns.

I also have an awkwardly shaped inch in diameter patch where hair doesn't grow AT ALL on the underside of my chin and upper neck. Even if I could grow proper facial hair, at the University I attend (BYU) one can be kicked out of class or be refused the privilege of being able to take an exam for being poorly groomed. Since I am pale and have nearly black hair about three days without a shave could land me in trouble (and has) -_-.

PS @ JT: Good video  .

Wow. As a religious institution, I could kind of understand if BYU had a modesty dress code or some such, but what are their theological (or ideological? cultural?) grounds for enforcing personal grooming for stuff like beards, stubble, etc.?

Funny pic by the way.

People underestimate how much a beard can keep your face warm in the winter. Ever shave mid-winter? Your face feels freezing when you do.
