Hahaha, very slick. I remember when I got to middle school I started to get teased for playing it, then in HS I only had two friends to play it with...sucked. Oh yeah, I was the same way with wanting to go to tourneys! My mom always said "no" and I would remember seeing the advertisements for the ones in Toys R Us and Wal-Mart. I still wanna go damnit! We got people to play who never even tried it before. It was easy to get away with in band since you're often left alone to "practice."

Yeah, I might go if I had a little kid with me...you know, as an excuse...KholdStare wrote:Hahaha, very slick. I've recently gotten really into the Advanced Generation of Pokemon games. I beat Fire Red and started getting pretty serious about breading and team building (tracking EV points, ect) only to realize that there is a much better system in place in Emerald. I've since started that game and think it's probably as good as it can be with all these whack new Pokemon.
I love linking up with my friend who is also getting really into these games and battling just about more than anything. We live in different states, so we've only gotten together to do this once. He actually flew in about two months ago mostly just for this purpose
. I had to rush order that Game Boy micro link cable from Nintendo and (luckily) it got there that very day. The best part was that we went into the battle not knowing the other's team (besides the starting Pokemon) or levels and ended up with a completely even battle record in the end of it all. It was so hardcore.

Gotta say, I'm actually impressed by the amount of people who play Pokemon here. I thought it was me and maybe 1 or 2 other people.
And I strongly suggest reading the manga, if you read manga at all. Really good!

Very amazing. I love how "real" it is. Cussing, people and pokemon dying, Pkmn adventures has balls. I read up until the Ruby/Sapphire chapter then I got bored. But before that it was fucking awesome. Truth be told I wasn't expecting it to be this mature when I first started reading it. Needless to say, I was surprised.equalsign wrote:Pokemon Adventures is AMAZING.KholdStare wrote:Gotta say, I'm actually impressed by the amount of people who play Pokemon here. I read the beginning, thought it was cool. Finally a trainer who actually catches Pokémon.
Didn't read much more, but I thought sometimes the pacing was a too fast (in stark contrast to the games). The last chapter I read is one in which Green's Charmeleon slashes in half an Arbok. Very cool.

Great RPG games. I've been a fan ever since Yellow Version came out. I admit I was a follower of the show, but after the Silver Conference it went to crap. My favorite games in the series have got to be the generation two games (Silver/Gold/Crystal). They gave you two regions, an ending boss (Red), an awesome rival, and the crime syndicate didn't suck! (You hear me Magma/Aqua/Galactic! YOU SUCK!)

I don't care if people don't think it is cool but i love poke'mon.I am 16 and own every game that has been made so far in mint condition.I hate it when people diss the games just because the are "kiddy".They are solid fun games that deserve every bit of acclaim they get.

Amen. I'm 19 and I definitely get the whole "dude aren't you too old to be playing Pokemon?" thing. It's a very stupid and narrow minded thing to say, but now I play with people who are 19+ and we all have a blast. Playing these games have no factor when it comes to age but people are stupid, what can ya do? If that horrid show never came out then it wouldn't be this bad, but AH WELL. Fuck what people think. I actually still have the first gen poster on my wall from the Nintendo Power issue with Bomberman on the front. I rock that shit proudly. Fuck age.Arbitern1 wrote:I don't care if people don't think it is cool but i love poke'mon.I am 16 and own every game that has been made so far in mint condition.I hate it when people diss the games just because the are "kiddy".They are solid fun games that deserve every bit of acclaim they get.
