I love how NoA mismanages this program.
It's as if in the last week they saw the sharp rise in Platinum users and somehow didn't expect the demand to be so high.
Well, the FAQ entries for the system seemed to indicate that somewhere around July 30th would be the time they would announce. I'd suspect that they are looking at a breakdown of number of each status and picking a gift based upon those numbers. If they had 500,000 platinum members then they probably wouldn't go with the same gift they'd pick for 5,000 platinum.

July 30th is supposedly when they're going to announce it, but you'll get an e-mail indicating that it's been made available if you're a qualifying Gold or Platinum member so you'll know on the day of.

looking forward to this, I transferred my account over to club nintendo right before the cut off and got myself up to platinum and then a few days after the cut I put in the rest of my codes and got above gold again. I think I play too many games...

Ha yeah I'm 20 points away from platinum status for 2010, so i'll just need to do 2 post play surveys.
I think I'll be one new game away from Plat. for 2010 after the post play surveys arrive in 4-6 weeks. Since I'll probably get a few games around holiday season I'm set without even trying! But next year...that might be a different story now that my back catalog is dried up
