Yeah, I'm actually in the DC area at the moment and it hit us about 6:15.

Back home in Alabama, I usually didn't worry too much about unplugging electronics during thunder storms. If I did, I'd be running around unplugging stuff every afternoon during the summer.

Yeah, that was exactly what it was like! Except it happened here in South Carolina along with like 8" of snow. It really was like the end of the world.
