I bought the original psp(with the 32mb chip SMH) and I hated it, games were decent(the ones realesed around that time) the chips were expensive and everything and the joint was big(pauz) and couldn't fit it in my pocket... BUT it basically stood in the box after the first few months of play and then this past x-mas I sold it for a hundred bones...
THANK GOD... this joint looks so much better... just when I was feeling like crap for selling mine, being that I'm about to cop a PS3 and would have loved to play psx games on the go...and I always wanted to play MGS portable ops
ME HAPPY. Hope it's between 150 and 200... over that and thats TOO much yash(I keeps it cheap)

Re: PSP-Go! has been revealed...
What are you talking about? The gaming industry goes through implied incremental upgrades all the time! Just look at PC gaming. There is no 2nd analog nub because the first iterations of the PSP are still going to be supported.
Sony seems like they're TRYING to alienate their users. Once they eliminate the UMD format, people with a PSP any one of the following will be screwed: Can't afford a big memory stick, already have a big UMD collection, people who just recently bought a PSP, people who don't have access to internet/have slow internet, or people who already invested a lot of money in memory sticks. Building on what superlarz said, eliminating the UMD will essentially remove PSP influence from stores, except for the consoles themselves.

I'm sensing N-Gage levels of fail here.
If the shops can't sell the games, who the fuck is going to care about it? The shops are unlikely to push it for long, especially if they can't get the software attach rate from it and the lucrative second hand market. Lack of physical games is one of the many reasons the n-gage failed miserably.

Look, if the PSP and PSP go are going to get the same games in the future (which is what I believe they said in the Qore interview), then you can't have more advanced controls on one system that are not available on another... I never said that I didn't want them to add one, just that if they are going to be harmonious (PSP and PSP go getting the same games, just your choice of disc based or DL) then they need to have the same interface. You simply can not promote an inferior product (i.e. PSP with only one nub).lisalover1 wrote:What are you talking about? The gaming industry goes through implied incremental upgrades all the time! There will still be retail games...Patapon 2 has no disc version, yet you can go to Best Buy and buy a case with a DL code inside of it. I'd imagine that this is the same way games for the PSP go will be sold (in addition to the PSP store).Niode wrote:I'm sensing N-Gage levels of fail here.

Re: PSP-Go! has been revealed...
I never really owned a lot of PSP games and I would get this if they had a 32gb version probably, looks like it would make a decent media player. I really wish it had a touch interface or buttons so i could skip songs and such without opening it, and more cheap games ala iPhone. I would really like to teather it to my phone too, but it would be better if it had a phone built in. It screems iPod Touch rip-off too. I may get one depending on how good the Zune HD is, the price of iTouch and iPhones are compared to this, and actually using one first hand.
edit: Also if they have those DL cards that would be awesome because I refuse to have a credit card. Either way PSN accepts American Express giftcards though.

So, it really won't have a second hand market. Niode's point still stands.enderfall wrote:There will still be retail games...Patapon 2 has no disc version, yet you can go to Best Buy and buy a case with a DL code inside of it. Re: PSP-Go! has been revealed...
So what? Gamestop might not sell them, but Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, they'll all support it so long as it sells.... So what if there is no second hand market, Sony doesn't give a damn since they never make a cent off of second hand sales. Hard core gamers (like myself and many others here) might not buy into it, but to say that it'll fail miserably because there will be no retail support is not true. There seems to be a large enough audience that prefer downloadable games (see Xbox live, WiiWare/VC, PS Store, and the App Store for reference) to be able to support Sony. Just because GS might not push the system doesn't mean that it won't work out.jfrost wrote:So, it really won't have a second hand market. Re: PSP-Go! has been revealed...
Yeah but if the mainstream gaming stores won't sell it then they are still closing off a demographic, I'm not saying it definitely will happen, it's a possibility though.

Re: PSP-Go! has been revealed...
Sony does make money off the second hand market. People are more willing to spend money on games they will be able to sell off later than they are with titles they're stuck with.enderfall wrote:So what if there is no second hand market, Sony doesn't give a damn since they never make a cent off of second hand sales.
As Niode said, it's not that it is inevitable, but there's a good possibility it might happen.Hard core gamers (like myself and many others here) might not buy into it, but to say that it'll fail miserably because there will be no retail support is not true.
None of the services you listed sell games for the same price as retail stores do (are you willing to pay 50-60 dollars on a game you can't sell later?). Rather, they sell games for cheap (mostly). It might be a sustainable business model, but it is substantially different from the audience Sony was targeting with the first installments of the PSP, so it is also a dangerous strategy. There seems to be a large enough audience that prefer downloadable games (see Xbox live, WiiWare/VC, PS Store, and the App Store for reference) to be able to support Sony. Just because GS might not push the system doesn't mean that it won't work out.
