What was racket boy like when it first started?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

It's cool as a newcomer to see how much the site has changed. Maybe more people here can wax about the old days

I think the fact that threads don't get auto-killed due to age is what keeps people from reminiscing much about old RB. You can literally go to the last page of any board and see everything from the beginning exactly the way it was.

I think I first came to Racketboy when I was looking for Sega Genesis and Nintendo video games I had missed. The "hidden gems" articles piqued my curiosity. I drank up the articles like wine, but I didn't join the forums until 2009 when together retro was playing Galaga.

I was also brought to RacketBoy by the Hidden Gems articles, back in '07. For a long time I didn't really realize there was anything else to the site.

I came as a sega fan and was heavily collecting games for sega and other platforms at the time I found the rare and pricing lists to be helpful in my collecting and gaming. I don't recall my old username but it was similar to the one I chose this time I've not done the research on myself and my old posts yet :)

Good times. Even if I could still get my hands on more, I couldn't get them nearly that cheap wholesale...
