I've just been blasting thru this as this thread has revitalised by interest in the game and I dont like at as much as I did when I first played it.
I mean it has all that old school feel of the classic sega games and loads of weapons to unlock and try out and I like the way the levels branch thru different paths but I dont like the way the levels get harder each time you beat the boss - I mean the best thing I enjoy from LG games, or any other shooter of any genre for that matter, is memorising the patterns and shooting off a perfect level. something that is impossible when the game changes each time you play it.
what do you guys think?

Isn't it the same if you always pick the same path?

Nope. The game gets harder and harder. For instance, beat a particular path often enough, and enemies start appearing with shields. There are notable weapons that can pierce these, but they are often slow to fire/reload. It means you need to pick your accuracy up and go for head/foot shots only as people peek around the shields.
I actually enjoy this feature. I find a lot of light-gun games get "samey" after a while (the Virtua Cop titles always bugged me for that). The dynamic nature of Ghost Squad puts it higher on the list for me. I like games that scale with skill. Shmups that have "rank" systems annoy me, as they just force you to suicide to calm things down. But Ghost Squad's difficulty scaling is quite pleasant.
If you don't like it, you can always create a new profile and start again. But I'm keen to see just how far it can go (I'm yet to get 100% on all levels and all sections on higher difficulty level rounds, which is certainly a challenge worthy of attaining).
