No Ryan, I live in Omaha. But 8 hours is a very short drive to see Phish at Red Rocks. Maybe next year. Not sure what I'll be doing instead. I'm going to Wakarusa in AR in June for sure.
Concerning classic rock, I got tickets to see Neil Young last summer here and he cancelled. Rescheduled for May I think. But tickets were actually reasonable, $80. Expensive, but not too much for a rock legend. I saw Neil perform at Bonnaroo in '03, he totally stole the whole festival.
Speaking of Bonnaroo, I did that in '02 and '03. Lots of fun, but also lots of work. It's damn hot in TN in June. There's almost no shade, and damn if it wasn't a 45 minute walk from my tent to the stage. I've been sticking to smaller festivals since then. It's much nicer to be able to relax in the shade by your campsite and not worry about seeing every great band on stage for 20 minutes before you run off to catch another bit of another great band.
