You want to talk about relying on the enemy, here's one.
Back in the Cold War we wanted to spy on the Russians. So we came up with this badass plane, the SR-71 Blackbird. It would fly fast and high, Mach 3.2, so that even though it was rediculously visable from an infrared standpoint it could just outrun anything that was thrown at it.
The only problem is that standard aircraft metals are not strong enough to withstand sustainted Mach 3.2 flight. You have a massive friction and compression problem. We needed titanium. To get the titanium, we imported it from the Russians.
So we imported itanium from the Russians to build planes to spy on the Russians.

Not gonna happen.wclem wrote:They have a large and cheap labor force. Sooner or later they will get unions and an expensive labor force. Every economic system starts out like China, Workers will sooner or later revolt, when they figure out there are a million of them to just one employee. Funny how the masses can be controlled by one single person or a small group.

I guess I was desensitised by your comment. And besides, I'd rather be a employed child than a dying child anyday.Jrecee wrote:And you said my comment was meancorn619 wrote:I think a goat and a pint of milk is a very fair weekly wage for assembling iPods.
