Wow, 2000 pages.

Smile: Today my boss said he would write a reference for me (I'm about to go job hunting with new qualifications, looking to be a Surveyors Assistant part time) which is fantastic. The team there is great and we have a lot of fun, but I really don't want to be in retail any longer. It's closing in on three years there now, which I wouldn't have predicted when I first started working.
Over that, I'm well on track to completing all my mandatory maths work for my final test next week, so I can go on to the next part (and eventually continue my studies in surveying). Over THAT, I have the weekend off. Happy times, yo.

Frown: Absolutely fucking nothing. Maybe the ads on Spotify, I should stop being so cheap and just pay for a subscription.

Wow indeed. What madness did I create?

Thanks Aaron. You've got a knack for putting a smile on my face.

Speaking of: After my Bible study the group asked me to lead all meetings.

I have to leave early, and apparently they came to a consensus that I was the best "leader".

And not to sound arrogant, but I agree. I'm precise and don't dibble dabble. What exactly dibble dabble mean, I don't know, but I believe it means to take up too much time.

More on this later....time to go to work.

That's cool. I am going to my first Bible study session tonight. A couple of the elder dudes from the church invited me last week. I felt humbled by their invitation, almost like I am finally starting to "belong" to that church after attending for 4 years.

"My" group is just a bunch of dudes from different churches and faiths. I'm not a super religious guy, and to be very candid, I see the Bible as a text book of how to live more than anything. There's tons of great lessons in there, but I don't get into the "angels fighting devils" stuff. I'm more into the "Bill and Ted" kind of stuff where Jesus, disciples, and other dudes ask things like "Isn't it beautiful when one lends a hand?".

Hand jokes aside, that stuff resonates with me, especially how it it written and asked. Because, it IS beautiful when someone lends a hand. There are so many lessons, and it doesn't boil to "God doesn't want you to be an asshole", but there is a lot of that, and i can be a jerk so these "studies" help keep me chickity-check myself before I wrickity-wreck myself.

I can get with that. I especially like the Bill and Ted reference  I too read it for my own reasons, and they aren't always religious reasons. In the article "100 Must Read Books" from the Art of Manliness website, the author of this post puts in his two cents, and I agree with him:
Despite being one of the most religious industrialized nations, America’s religious literacy is horrible. If asked to name one of the Ten Commandments or one of Jesus’ apostles, many Americans wouldn’t be able to do it. The problem is half the books on these lists make Biblical references that must be known by the reader for them to understand the message of that book. If a Western man desires to understand the culture that surrounds him, he needs to have a thorough understanding of the Book that has shaped that culture.

In addition, the Bible is full of ancient counsel and advice that is applicable to today’s man, whether you’re a believer in God or not.

Pretty sure you and I are on the same page on this.

We have born again Christians on this forum as well as atheists. But the reason we get along is that we're all smart enough to know we don't know everything, and we're cool with that. I hate to use this phrase, "but at the end of the day" why argue over some stuff we'll probably never know until we die?

There's some great teachings in the Bible on how to be a bit more humble and help others. I love helping others, and I need to be more humble.

At the same time, I've learned a lot from "Groucho and Me" and "Harpo Speraks". 'Sall about being open minded and asking yourself questions to make your noggin more nogginy. Maybe I simply "love me some" autobiographies and love to hear what others have gone through in life. You might not be able to tell it from my posts, but I listen. A lot.

Smile: Sometime, maybe years ago, we printed out a ton of Spiderman posters that are awesome. "Frame worthy" doesn't even begin to describe how nice they are, and the paper is so thick and glossy...they're medina rope.

Grabbed me a few of 'em. Giving one to a local friend, and one to a writer friend who is in "the Woods". They'll flip. Or fall trying to flip.

I'll attach a pic sometime of the "poster".

My loan application at my bank was rejected, even with a co-signer. Said I didn't have enough credit history. Which means I don't have any money to move with.

I'm fucked. I'm stuck here and I'm stuck like this and there's nothing I can do. This town is a dead end in every possible way.

I was so close to finally being out of here.

I don't know what to even do now.
