No Hydlide, that's odd, but it is awful too and they do pop up a pun when it's in the drive too.

As far as Tengen goes between the v1 and v2 I now have I've dropped a 1/3 of the games in it and never had a problem. Rolling Thunder, Road Runner, Afterburner, Indiana Jones, Pac-Man, Tetris, and I had Pac-Mania in it too.

It is listed as playable. Are you up to date? There have been quite a few times I have to remove a game and reinsert it over and over to get the Retron 5 to read it as it attempts to dump it before all the pins are secure.

Gauntlet is compatible as of 2.0 B5, I've got 2.0 B6. I think I just didn't want to risk damaging any pins, because those Tengen carts are made differently, instead of the small cut off spaces you have on the bottom of a typical NES cart, it's solid all the way to the pins, so putting it in has a really tight fit. I might have to re-attempt it.

Funny you should mention that, someone on Hyperkin's Facebook reported an issue with PAL Sonic 3 saying it stops after the first level?

I'm guessing your machine just hates the cart for some reason. I've had similar issues with mint copies of Snake Rattle and Roll and Adventures of Tom Sawyer. I picked up a different copy of SRnR that works great. Haven't tracked down another cheap Tom Sawyer yet.

Last I checked the version of SMB2 my cart is won't work on either revision of the system from a firmware somewhere in the lower 1.x releases. I haven't tried it since it went officially into the 2s.

Anyone else tried capturing footage with this in tandem with the Elgato? Sometimes there's sprites missing when I go back and view what I recorded. There were long periods of gameplay in Dinosaurs for Hire where the bullets coming out of your gun don't show, and other instances I've noticed where the character is completely missing in this and other games. Anyone know what the problem might be?

Are you capturing analog video output? If so, remember that with NTSC video feeds being interlaced, sometimes flickering objects will disappear on the video feed.

Try setting all your video settings to progressive scan - both on the Retron 5 and on the video capture card.
