Those are some fine ports. I've been playing Dawn of Souls.

Too bad there was never a GBA port of part III. Kinda weird to have parts 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 on GBA but no 3. But I guess it's not as bad as the PlayStation which has 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 but no 3.
I agree, I hate how Square didn't do a 16-bit remake of FFIII. Square I guess wasn't in the mood to devote resources to it.

FFIII (Famicom) wasn't released in the US at the time (1990) because Square was focused on making games for the SNES. They eventually released FFIV as FFII in the west since it was the second one released there.

Then like you said FFIII in the west really being FFVI.

@ Fragems - Nice Trinitron TV! Even at only 13 inches it still has extra inputs! The RCA audio out work great going to an amp, but keep the TV speakers turned on thru the Menu to maximize the sound.

Chip Modded 1.6 Xbox - from nullxor
Solid unit with reliable disc reader. Note the disc reader tray smooth cutout, but wait a minute it is not a Thomson drive! No, not Samsung or Phillips either. Answer at the bottom of this Reply. :?

Oh, this console definitely needs to go all the way with a much larger Hard Drive!

Maxtor IDE 320gb Hard Drive - EBay $34.88 shipped
Not an outstanding price, but worth it to get a brand new sealed in factory static free bag. Verified before purchase that it is compatible and lockable for the Xbox. However, locking is not needed since I went the Slayer Dashboard route.

Upgraded the Xbox with larger Maxtor Hard Drive for installing games for much faster convenient loading. I can play Mame on the HD CRT TV and also some rare and expensive imports such as Metal Wolf Chaos all loaded right off the internal hard drive!

Aladdin Mod Chip (Red PCB) plugged right in the main board.
The disc reader in the Xbox is the uncommon Hitachi unit!

Newegg

Mario & Sonic Winter Games 2014 (WiiU) - $20

Gamestop:

My local gamestop was giving a 50% bonus (this is YMMV, I got an email).

So I took the SMG2 and Animal Crossing from the pawn $20 and got $30 trade in at GS.

Then got Pinball Arcade (PS4) for $2 after. Now I'm up to 4 ps4 games :)

The flea markets are starting to get better - most happy about finding a Halo edition Xbox. It was $30 (talked down from $40) but I've been on the lookout for one of these for a while now. Everything else was relatively cheap.

I finally went through all the hoops I needed to in order to get my emails from Outlook Express to Outlook 2003, and then imported into this PC. I forgot I had a really old folder with ebay correspondences before they made it a lot easier to keep track of stuff. Found some old prices I paid for things (shipping excluded) at the end of 2001. Fun for complaining about where prices have gone since then.

Strider 2 complete: $6.75
Axelay cart: $2.99
Castlevania IV complete: $10.57

I feel you. I was recently cleaning up my emails dating back to 2004 and I noticed ebay purchase confirmations for Final Fight 3 for $30, a box Jaguar for $60, and a complete NES Deluxe set for $100 - all of which were high at the time. Also $19 for a sealed NES Namco Ms Pacman, $16 for a sealed SNES Street Fighter II. Those are the ones that come to mind because I looked the current ebay prices up after seeing those old emails and man have times changed.

I also almost cried when I saw how cheaply I sold of all my JAMMA PCBs for in 2007 - $30 for a 4 player TMNT (the first one), $5 for Street Fighter 2...it goes on. Ugh!
