Now the guy has moved on to the time he was jumped, held hostage for 4 days, and escaped his captors by impaling one in the groin with the pneumatic lifter in the desk chair by weakening the support after noticing it s was a particularly cheap crappy one.Onyxthecat wrote:Updates?bryan_65 wrote:Hope you get it.aaron wrote:I'm standing in line at goodwill right now waiting on this double dragon machine. I found this at a thrift store for $15 with two controllers. I talked him down to $10. Why would I spend $10 on a Playstation?

I'm going to put a modchip in it tonight and it will good to go.

it was still there. i was headed for it. the guy with the cigarette extender passed it ahead of me. and just as i was about to grab the tag, he whipped around and grabbed the tag off the marquee.Onyxthecat wrote:Updates?bryan_65 wrote:Hope you get it.aaron wrote:I'm standing in line at goodwill right now waiting on this double dragon machine. i was so goddamn furious but i maintained my composure and told him that was the only item i wanted, i drove halfway across the city just to get it, and i asked him what he planned to do with it. he said "i dunno. maybe sell it."
he asked for my number and said he'd call me later. i have never wanted to punch a dude so bad in my entire life.
but... anyway... i did go game hunting with some fellows from NA today and got some rare Intellivision carts for under $1 each, found some nice CIB saturn games, and got a turbografx multi tap and 4 controllers for $20. so whatever.
i also snagged a SEVERELY UNDERPRICED Gundam Wing DVD set (the 10-disc box set) for $4.99. it was on a back shelf and i noticed it as i was checking out at a local resale shop. the employee was not very happy to have sold it to me so i'm guess it was priced that low for him to pick up later. whoops!

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
To be honest now that i think about it, with the game I just sold on ebay(even missing the label on it, if the people/company will stop questioning the whether or not it's real and just look at the second pic of the game I had up)...i'm technically only paying 24.52 for it out of my money I actually have....mjmjr25 wrote: @darsparx - friendly advice coming. $42 isn't bad, but i'd bet you could've found one for cheaper on the forum with patience. Damn dude that really sucks. I run across slime like that here in NY all the time. Good snag on Gundam Wing, at least you got something for a deal. I wonder if the cab as something in it that karma saved you from?

Very sound advice. It's best not to be too hasty when beginning a quest.mjmjr25 wrote: @darsparx - friendly advice coming. $42 isn't bad, but i'd bet you could've found one for cheaper on the forum with patience. The disc reader is not that good compared to later models. Probably not the ideal unit for CDRs if that is your plan with a Mod Chip. I have that console too and besides the direct RCA output jacks (which is also in the PS1/PS2 cable), found no difference in sound quality.nullxor wrote:I found this at a thrift store for $15 with two controllers. Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
So, I have been wanting to post for a couple weeks, but I just haven't had the time. Anyways, below is what I found in the last 10-12 days or so.
Yard sales were a big bust today-best deal I saw was Lego Marvel Superheros for the 360 brand new for 20 bucks. Otherwise, just a lot of kiddie ds games that were overpriced ($5 seems to be the going rate for wii/ds stuff around here).
Last weekend, I picked up the smash bros melee for $1. There isn't a manual, but for a buck who cares. I also got a ds lite and 3ds charger for fifty cents.
I then stopped by the local thrift and snagged the NES package for $25.
I picked up the War of the Monsters and Kingdom Hearts for 4 dollars each. Both are complete and there was a ps2 memory card in KH. I got those last Friday at a local thrift and passed on Half Life for the Ps2.
Last Wednesday I picked up the complete Ehrgeiz and Crash Bandicoot at a Goodwill (side note: I hate Goodwill and this was the first stop I made in one in a long time so maybe I should stop more often). Total-$6.00.
Not a bad run-definitely saw more, but I don't buy everything.
And the story about the DD cab-the guy in line sounds like so many people I see at the thrift store. There are some characters (who generally haven't mastered the use of deodorant) at thrift stores.
