Yeah, it approximately halves the health of everything in game. Like those can stacks? Normally you shoot them, they fall apart and probably nail you, then reform and need to be shot a second time to kill them.

On US Normal you don't even have to bother with the boss weaknesses haha. The buster is enough. Though, some bosses you can like 2-3 shot with the weaknesses.

Funny enough, Hard is still nothing compared to Mega Man 1 for me. Granted I didn't grow up with MM1, but it still seems a lot rougher around the edges. Elec Man can absolutely destroy you, the boss rush is crazy hard, and the pixel perfect jumping is a bit trickier... even with the pause trick MM1 remains to be pretty tough to me. I'm glad they toned it down with the sequels. The others are a cake walk really haha.

Well, the thing that really helps is the addition of E-Tanks in the later games. But yes, there are also quite a few rough edges with the original game. I tend to have issues more with the boss rush before Wily and the clone than anything, but Elec Man will own you if you don't have the weakness weapon (or show some amazing, in-the-zone skill). I think three hits does you in there.
