Why Sony made getting to the battery a pain I have no idea.

Part of the reason for the battery not being as easy to access as it could be, besides for better appearances, may be the rarely used rear touch pad.

That's plausible.

Honestly, I figured the battery being integral was just in with the zeitgeist of most modern gadget design. I think a strong majority of people see new electronics as disposable... something you play with for a year or two and never touch again. The battery lasts long enough for that mindset.

I recently changed a battery in an iPhone, and it was quite easy.

Depends on the manufacturer, and we are really taking this thread out into the weeds.

I only plan to buy all of them.
