The beach is awesome.

Myrtle Beach is not.

Well myrtle beach is supposed to be a tourist trap, but at least it's not as bad on that as gatlinburg or pigeon forge in TN(and yes I've been to or seen both...two of the biggest tourist traps if I've ever seen ones). Myrtle is relaxing compared to those two...just wouldn't go to it as much as some try to get me to go(grandmother has a spot in garden city but I can only see myself going to the beach twice maybe 3 times a year...)

I hate the beach and avoid it at all costs. I don't like water, I don't like sand, I don't like sun.

:? I'm not really sure what I do for "fun". I'm a pretty boring person and keep to myself. I play video games, ride my bike and watch movies for fun. If we go out, I like to go to comic shops and the insectarium. I don't like traveling, so going on vacation doesn't sound fun for me... Unless it was Japan. I'd kill to go to Japan. I would actually like to go see the sights, smell the smells and even go to the beach.

:D Breakfast with the family. It's been a while since we all found time to sit down together and eat.

It is not hard to believe they are literally ten miles from each other. But Gatlinburg has Hillbilly Mini Golf, and that is awesome. But together they are still not as bad as Panama City Beach.

What is the conversation about today? Complaining that tourist traps are tourist traps? There is nothing necessarily unique to Myrtle Beach, Gatlinburg, Kissimmee that is different than tourist traps of Branson, Wisconsin Dells, Cedar Point, etc. They are what they are and many people flock to them - there are no surprises and it's no surprise that many people don't like them either.

The wife and I went to Gatlinburg for her birthday last year. We loved it. We got a cabin, went white water rafting and played at like 4 different mini golf places. The wax museum was pretty cool too. Different strokes I guess

Frown: none of this is helping me write
I understand this. I've been going through this off and on for quite a while. I also feel like all the video games are getting in the way of my writing, hence why I'm not collecting nearly as much as I was.

I have nothing against Gatlingburg. I mean it is a tourist trap, but those can be fun every once and a while. I mean Go Karts, Arcade, Minigolf, and Icecream - you have several of my favorite things in a row there.

The Dells are the same way. Several water parks, several go karts, mini golf, arcade, ice cream, it's just a collection of a bunch of different fun activities. A tourist trap beach, on the other hand, seems like a letdown to me.
