What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

The only thing that was truly truly outrageous about it was that they called it Jem.
 I should've seen that one coming....why didn't i think of that? ha ha...seriously though there's no real reason for why it should be called jem though...

Her and the Olsen twins were some of my childhood crushes.

I guess the Olsen twins went completely underground or something as they got older.

Same with Miley....after "Climb" I was like "wth?". We've already got enough trashy artists and such without her joining the ranks. This klafos(kid live action falling out syndrome) is getting even odder even compared to the older cases of it...

Which is a damn shame. I really enjoyed her when she was on All That. Even then you could tell she had a certain spark that could take her places, but she looks like she's fallen down a path that a lot of young stars seem cursed to take. I seems the vast majority of kid stars like her were fated to have poor/indifferent/negligent parents who couldn't keep an eye on them or guide them the way they needed in that industry.

I feel bad for them. It's like the stories you hear about lottery winners. They've suddenly got all this dough and they don't know what to do with it. They start getting bad advise from all angles, start trusting people they shouldn't, some of them people who are supposed to help them and the next thing you know they're broke and substantially worse off than they were before the money rolled in. It's just horribly sad.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if I ever win the lottery I'm buying every member of Racketboy who's been here 5 years or more 1 game of their choice (so pick a good one, damn it), buying a house large enough for a game room, a library and a hella tall stone fence, and becoming a recluse.

agreed Michi. I think she was very talented, and I feel like she's in a really bad place. It's too bad.

You know I'm a big LiLo fan too. And as such you probably realize that my empathy runs deep.

Also: My game pick will be Panzer Dragoon Saga. 8)

Poor Lohan is another prime example. So much promise dashed due to poor guidance (her parents have such punchable faces, no?). Just watch her in Parent Trap and you can see the burgeoning talent. And then she got older, and better, and matured and then... I don't know. It's like someone threw a can of gasoline on her, set her on fire and the fire department is still hovering around, slowly putting out the blaze and poking at some of the bits that fell off.

Though I think it's also important to point out that kids stars aren't 100% doomed to fail. Drew Barrymore was in the same boat not too many years ago and managed to pull herself out (Not that I'm saying she didn't have help, but you have to actually want the help before it'll do any good). So there's always at least a sliver of hope. Thin though it often is.

Duly noted.

I have a feeling I'd have to buy a few of those, actually

Can you reveal the list?
Sure. TCM schedules publicly two months in advance. These movies will all be shown:

The Story of Temple Drake
Black Narcissus
Design For Living
The Outlaw
Baby Face
Wild Boys of the Road
M
The French Line
And God Created Woman
Untamed Youth
Breathless
Viridiana
Kiss Me, Stupid
Blow Up
Never on Sunday
Reflections in a Golden Eye
The Carey Treatment
The Competition
Those Lips, Those Eyes
Lemora, A Child's Tale of the Supernatural
Ice Castles
The Moon is Blue
Baby Doll
L'Amore
Strange Cargo
Rififi
Love in the Afternoon
Looks like they're going to air them in chunks on Thursday nights from 8 til...3ish (so it won't be over until 5 or later?). Damn, TCM. You could have at least spaced them out a little more. I'm going to have to set the DVR...a lot.

Moontrap

What kind of a mind could have conceived, financed and produced this travesty? Still, it has intrinsic nostalgic value.
