Some of you are probably wondering how you can get a house for that low of a price. Hint: look at my Location.
I wouldn't think anyone is thinking that's low. The US median home value for 2013 was $152,000. You're quite a bit above the median. Where i'm at $250K will get you a 3,500 sq. foot home in a really nice neighborhood, or on about 5 acres of land.

From the pictures you've posted I'm fairly certain you live in the US equivalent of Siberia, so I'm not surprised prices are cheaper there :P

Alaska is the U.S. equivalent of Siberia. In fact, AK is only 44 miles from Siberia.

I don't think I could afford a permanent parking spot in Chicago.

That's pretty incredible.

My wife's parents just sold their little home on a .5 acre lot for almost half a million. That was suburban Mass. tho.

A quarter million dollars could buy a mansion in my neck of the woods.

My mother bought herself a brand new two story house for 140K.

Texas has cheap real estate as well. I bought my new 2600 sq ft home in 08/09 for 140k (about 180 now). The NE US has high real estate costs.

 : Someone tossed a stink bug in the toilet and didn't flush. Didn't notice it floating around in there and made the mistake of taking a piss on it. Bathroom now smells like rotten potatoes :P .

Went to Avon, got three applications (one for a place I might not try for, since it may be for a job cleaning cottages and without a vehicle it'd basically be impossible).

So: :D

But... that's basically one application for every 4 to 7 places I asked about.

So:

Also two of the places said that they only hire women since they sell bathing suits for women and it's less awkward.

So:

And on Tuesday I gotta talk to the people at Wonder Berry.

So: :?:

Better than no applications at all, dude. I've been in the situation where I've been in fifty+ places a day and no one was hiring in any capacity. It's disheartening, to say the least.

Good luck with those applications though.
