He's in that position because McMahon put him there. But it's clear with the fans. Almost all the time now Cena is coming out to a large portion of the crowd booing him.

It's cool to hate Cena. Yeah Vince put him there, but he deserves that spot. He's been in some great matches. They say Shawn Michaels can have a great match with anyone. But Remember when Cena and HBK went an hour in the UK? Not even Shawn Michaels could carry someone for a match that long. He and Punk have great chemistry. He and Triple H had some great matches as well.

It's just his character is what's stale.

Rybak sucks, and look at the position he's in now. Kali is a walking pile of shit and they once made him champion. JBL is pure garbage and they made him champion for months

Being at the top of the WWE doesn't mean that you don't suck. Cena is living proof of that and continues to be every year

He's HBK. Yes he can. He even had a decent match with Kali once. He's THAT good. Cena is only good when he's in the ring with someone better than him who FORCES him to have a good match. He had some great matches with HBK because HBK is a perfectionist and he will MAKE YOU have a great match if he's in the ring with you. There was even a rumor once that he chewed out Cena for screwing something up in one of their matches

I rant about Cena a lot, but it just pisses me off because I know for a fact that there are people in the WWE RIGHT FREAKING NOW who are better than Cena, and I know for a goddamn fact that they could be MORE popular than Cena if the goddamn WWE machine would just give them that monster push that they gave Cena years ago. For whatever reason, the WWE machine only cares about Cena and no one else. I feel like Cena sold his soul to Satan to become the top guy in the WWE, because it's the only thing that makes sense. There are other guys who could fill the role better but for reasons that no intelligent person can understand he continues to be "the guy" in the WWE. It goes against all reason.

If you turned Ziggler face right now and gave him the Cena push, he'd be a bigger star and sell more merch than Cena. Hell, Daniel freaking Bryan could be bigger than Cena if the WWE gave him a big enough push. I'd bet my house and my car on that because it's the goddamn truth. EVERYONE loves Daniel Bryan. Kids, moms, adult males, he could EASILY be the next Cena if the WWE just decided to choose him for that role. He's already popular with kids for his goofy, Team Hell No gimmick and the yes/no chants. Plus, older males all seem to like the guy because he's such a damn fantastic wrestler.

WWE, being "sports entertainment", is like the music industry. It can make any one big, regardless of talent. Most of the music that sells the best is pure crap, while many brilliant artists only do mediocre or down right poorly. Well, the same thing applies to video games too but that's beside the point.

Cena isn't a horrible wrestler and his heel/word life gimmick from Ruthless aggression era was funny. But he's far from being the best actual wrestler in the company.
Anyways WWF/WCW/WWE has never valued pure wrestling talent as much as size/"being bad ass"/charisma/ability sell merchandise when it comes to the top dog wrestlers. Sure guys like Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko have been succesful but they've never been "the man" of the company (Goldberg, The Rock, Stone Cold, Batista, John Cena etc).

yeah Look at Raw last night. Cena didn't look like superman when he confronted the Sheild He needed Ryback and Sheamus to ward them off. You make Super Cena Super all the time and it gets real old real fast.

I really liked Raw last night. One of the best Raws in recent memory. Brock Killing the Miz
The Del Rio/Show stuff The Bruno induction video. The Kane/Daniel Bryan stuff too all great. Plus another great Punk/Jericho match and Minimal John Cena.

Since about the 2nd week last month, Raw (and Smackdown for that matter) has been surprisingly good. Don't know if WWE got new writers or what, but WWE is managing to really entertain me lately.

Apparently I'm not alone, either. Since we've seen in the last couple of weeks that Raw is the #1 show on Cable T.V.

Why did Cena have to be the one to lead the charge though? This is what annoys me about Cena. Everything is about him. Sheamus got beat down by The Shield on Smackdown last week. This means that last week he got beaten by them TWICE. He had way more reason to be the guy calling out The Shield and leading the charge on Raw, but because Cena is Cena, it had to be him. Rybak has been screwed by the shield repeatedly. Those guys have more of a beef with The Shield than Cena, why is he at the forefront of the fight against them now? Oh, that's right, because he's Cena

Sheamus and Rybak were basically his sidekicks last night. I'm also a bit annoyed that Rock hasn't joined the fight against them too since they've attacked him twice. I'm going to assume that's because they wouldn't dare put The Rock in the role of Cena sidekick, but have no problem doing that with Sheamus and Rybak

That being said, I enjoyed Raw overall. The product is on the upswing now, but that's only because it's Wrestlemania season. After that, things will suck again. That's the WWE pattern.
