The Simpsons Movie. Got it for Christmas back in '08, and for some strange reason, never really got around to watching it until last night.

Recently rewatched the two Burton Batman films (second time I've seen them).
Is it weird that they as much better than the Nolan Batman films as they are worse?
Also, does anyone else think Max Schreck may have inspired Jane Lynch's Glee character Sue Sylvester to some degree?

Ridley Scott, don't ever stop making movies till you drop dead

A sidenote: With what we have and what we know and will come to know, we can make heaven on earth, but our collective mindset isn't prepared to make the jump and neither are we ready for space colonisation.
Fuck you Matt Damon's character, disco will always be better than you

Just saw The Hateful Eight roadshow edition. Phenomenal film, but then I'm am unabashed Tarantino fan. The roadshow presentation was interesting, having the movie just start immediately after the lights dim was a unique experience.
I'll probably see it again in digital, just to try to spot the differences. There were definitely parts where Tarantino was completely filling the entirety of the 2.76:1 screen, so I'm sure those will be changed. It's quite the undertaking, that's for sure.

Saw the new Star Wars today. Would have seen it earlier, but I was very busy during the holidays. I'm sure you guys already discussed this one to death by now. Overall I can say it was better than I expected. I appreciate the new strong non-sexualized female protagonist. However the guy who plays Kylo Ren is just not intimidating. At all.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Just got back from The Hateful Eight. I...I'm not sure about this one guys. Most of the time, I can walk into a Tarantino movie and like it, even if it might not be my favorite. This one? Eh... Have you ever had a scene in a movie that seemed to taint everything else for you? I had a case of that here, where it made my stomach churn and made me very much dislike a character whose side Tarantino seemed to want you to be on.
I feel like, considering the two westerns Tarantino has done, Django was much better. I like the tension building in Hateful Eight, but the flaws seemed too large to me.

Star Wars has been out for two weeks now. Can we discuss specifics now?

In my opnion they played it really really safe which isn't a bad thing. Kind of felt like every scene in the movie was a call back to a scene in the original trilogy. They did a really amazing job with the effects and camera usage though probably my favorite scene was the scrolling shot with the Tie Fighters after the bar scene.
As for the ending.

I know the scene you're talking about, and I could see how it could affect people. I think it fits with the overall theme and characterization honestly, but I can understand why you feel the other way.
This one's definitely going to be polarizing. It's still a Tarantino flick, but it's not as dripping with his work as Django was.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
A couple of things about what some of you have posted:
A Christmas Story is meant to be drilled into your brain. It is the most aired movie in Turner's history. Believe me, I have worked with the stats for a project for TCM.
If you are sick of Rankin and Bass, go watch Microwave Massacre. It will make you rethink Frosty the Snowman.
Episode VII... I liked it. I have some complaints, but most of them are minor things. It stayed true to the formula, which I appreciated. Also I appreciate that Kylo Ren's force powers are consistent. He paralyzes things. That's what he does.
Also, as I doubt I will watch a new movie before the end of the year, I have seen 239 new movies this year. I will post the list later.
