Well, that's shitty. I figured it was more based on physical gender at birth, but I really didn't know. Congrats on getting everything figured out though.

Sigh... just wondering why you refused? Were you too busy not working or moving to NYC?

Also, most casual clothing, unless you are some wild and crazy guy who dresses to the nines just leaving the house, has multiple pockets. Jeans, cargo shorts, hoodies, etc... why can't you, I dunno, keep your Tracfone in one of these handy enclosures on your person and tell anyone wanting to "borrow" it to kindly piss off?
I refused because:

* It's a water heater. Which is heavy and I suck at heavy lifting.
* I was slowly losing what little energy I had left due to the fact that I didn't get any sleep that night and usually crash around 11am or 2pm and he asked me around 3 or 4pm.
* He had the damn thing for a few days and yet it suddenly seems to be relevant right after my brother, who despite being younger is more suited to manual labor, goes to the beach with everyone else.
* Anytime I do anything anyone else asks me, I somehow get screwed over. Last time he asked me to mow the lawn and use the weed whacker? I got that nasty-ass rash all over my torso and thighs (which I didn't find out about until AFTER I spent God knows how long digging and scratching at it), and my lips swelled up a couple of times. He asks me to chop firewood? I get mocked for making sure that if I miss I don't end up fucking my legs up. Or when my mom asks me to sign a lease in Florida? If I did get the means to move to NYC, I'd have to wait until the lease ran out. But then again we got kicked out and from June until the following March, I ended up living in a motel room.

And as much as I'd love to tell someone to piss off whenever they want to use my phone, they'd just tell me that I'm being selfish and that they're mostly the only people I ever call anyway so it'd be pointless to have a phone if the people I call don't. Plus the way my family works is that if someone won't share my mom just acts like "well, then we just won't share anything and we'll just be selfish assholes". Basically made to feel like a good family HAS TO share everything and that concepts like ownership are only arbitrarily enforced.

So you will complain about no hot water as you live in someone else's house, yet not assist in helping to fix the no hot water situation?

I read a student's final exam today, and he tells me that one of his sources was written by a 12 year old for local paper.

His paper is an analysis of The Great Gatsby

I think of all the sources I have seen about that book, many in my own thesis work, and realize that this student decided to go with book reviews and an article written by a pre-teen instead.

Maybe the people in Battle Royale had the right idea after all? :x

No. They didn't. The number of people that can possibly survive a typical Battle Royale never exceeds a single person. So the number of Battle Royales per year times the number of years they've been doing it times 39 (the minimum number of casualties) and you're looking at essentially a large chunk of the generation DEAD! When those survivors reach adulthood, besides being driven insane, they'd be part of the 2.5% of their generation that still exists!

Plus the idea of Battle Royale is that everyone of that generation is, in fact, in need of such measures. Basically that every young person is a delinquency, truant, dropout, deviant, fiend or some combination of those things. Which is basically bullshit.

In fact I'm just gonna leave this right here.
