Diablo 3- As far as Action RPG's, this is probably my favorite. What a fun and addictive game. I finished the story last night with my Barbarian (level 57) and I'm playing co op with a buddy with a Crusader on Hardcore. The story actually wasn't too bad, if not a little cliche. The real hook for this game is the loot and leveling up. The game does a wonderful job of blending it all together and making it fun getting new weapons and armor every few levels without getting stale.
I was worried I wouldn't like this game after my disappointment with Dragon's Crown, but this game is sooooooo much better (IMO). It reminds me of the X-Men Legends and Ultimate Alliance games.

Yes that is true skill. Not only in beating that game, but sticking with it.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Luke is the NES master. He is the only person to ever finish Bayou Billy.
I had that game when I was a kid, and besides the difficulty, the only thing I remember is when you power it up and the title screen announcer. I hated that guy.

Infamous Second Son
I feel like First Light is a better example of how to do an Infamous game, as it's just short enough to not lose your interest. I was pretty bored with Second Son by the time I beat it. When you get right down to it, for however much they pretend to be comic book super hero games, the Infamous games are really just third person shooters. Or as one funny review I read put it, "generic shooters with delusions of grandeur." Sure, there are some fun powers you can use, but combat generally boils down to shooting at people and taking cover. Rinse, repeat. That's the whole game in a nutshell. And given that there are fifty billion shooters on the market today, Second Son doesn't stay very interesting for very long
Also, the game completely jumps the shark once that stupid, twerp Eugene comes into the story. Suddenly, Infamous tries to become Darksiders - and it's completely ridiculous. Now you're fighting angels and demons and fighting some huge monster in some netherworld
Fucking stupid
It's pretty much all downhill from there. You acquire a completely lame and useless new power after that (video power), which just feels like a downgrade from your previously acquired neon powers. It also doesn't help that the character you get the power from is repeatedly shown doing FAR more bad ass things with it than you get to do.
The story from this point on in the game plays out in very predictable fashion and the characters never really become compelling or interesting
It boggles the mind that this is the same studio that made the Sly Cooper games, as these characters exhibit absolutely none of the charm those characters had. They're bland, cardboard, cut out characters that feel like they came out of a marketing meeting.
When all is said and done, Infamous games are generic, cookie cutter games aimed at not very discriminating young gamers(i.e. teens). They can be fun in small bursts though, but feel like bargain bin titles rather than "must play" material.
I used to love Sucker Punch, now they feel like just another generic game developer.

Still to this day I'm consider myself extremely lucky if I make it to Bourbon street.
That that terrible noise of Billy dying..."Euuuahh!" haunts me. Sounds more like a dry heave than anything.

In the past two weeks I have finished the original trilogy of Armored Core games on PS1. Here are my thoughts:
Now I'm going to go back to Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl and finish it up.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
