Let's see how many XL jokes I can make up on the spot.

Try not to cut yourself on those huge pixels.

If you have a problem with bugs coming into your house, you can get some help from the XL's screen door.

My little brother tried Zelda on my XL and asked if it was the minecraft version, since it was so blocky.

That's all I got.

I played a few hours of NSMB (DS) and the graphics look fine. I'm actually going to grab my Lite and directly compare later tonight. The sound, however, is distinctly "DS". I don't mean the speakers on the 3DS are poor, I mean the actual sound generation of whatever makes the DS music and speech is much worse than with 3DS games. Every DS game seems to have that scratchy kind of sound.

Another things I notice as I go back through some DS game is that the title screens are always so plain. With 3DS games, you get a lot of animations and such while at the title screen. DS games have static, plain title screens.

I got pretty close to beating Shinobi 3DS on Hard today when my 3DS suddenly froze up. None of the buttons responded; not even the home button.

Has this happened to any of you guys? Think it was caused by a software update, or could be fixed by one? It's a first time for me.

I play DS games on my 3DS all the time and I have no problem with how they look or sound personally. I missed out on the DS library so then again I don't really have any experience with actual DS hardware.

No actually. I really cant remember the last time I've had any system freeze up on me actually. Maybe the game bugged out for a second and that froze up the whole system. Sounds like a random gremlin decided to screw you over. :P

I own that game and I never got past the horse stage

I don't know, I enjoyed the 2 Shinobi games on the Mega Drive, but this one just isn't for me :(

Never played Shadow Dancer, and for some reason I thought it only came out in the arcade and Saturn. Is it better than Revenge and 3?

I don't know, I've never played it either

I think most people prefer Revenge or III, but Shadow Dancer is a bit different. It seems to play a little like a cross between the original Shinobi and the Revenge of Shinobi style.

Agh. I actually hated the original Shinobi. And the 3DS game also seems to be a mix of that and Ninja Gaiden, and very few characteristics of the Mega Drive games. (at least of the little I played it)

Me too. People assure me that it's different enough to be worth giving a go though.

Shadow Dancer is not better than Shinobi III of course. Shinobi III is awesome. :P

Shadow Dancer is on the Saturn? Is it a port of the arcade game or the Genesis version because the Genesis version is the better of the two.

And try Shadow Dancer regardless of your opinions on the original arcade game. It's different enough to be its own thing and well worth playing.

Fun fact:

Shinobi III is the product of random western naming conventions. It's the third Shinobi game on the Genesis so they decided to call it Shinobi III to avoid confusion.

When actually Shinobi the arcade game and Revenge of Shinobi are from two different series. Think of it as Mega Man and Mega Man X. In this case it's Shinobi and Super Shinobi. In Japan, Revenge of Shinobi is called The Super Shinobi and Shinobi III is called The Super Shinobi 2.

So to simplify all that: Shadow Dancer is the sequel to Shinobi while Shinobi III is the sequel to Revenge of Shinobi.

I have the 3DS game but I haven't gotten to it yet. I'm not expecting much.
