New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
I go by The Rev, I host an hour long bi weekly show Tales from the Arcade on You Tube. The Show focuses on Retro games mostly Shmups and Fighters.
I'm a Saturn collector primarily but more recently I started collecting for the N64 and I'm known to get a few Dreamcast games from time to time. I've been looking for another forum to post on since members on the HG101 forums were acting like stupid children.
I also post as Godofhardcore over on Assembler.

Hi, Fuzzy_Cthulhu here, Jim Yates IRL.
I'm 32, gamer all my cognitive life. Originally from England, I moved to Louisville, KY in 2007 to marry my wife. Louisville isn't too bad for a collector- quite a few second-hand stores, but they tend to know what things should cost, so getting a bargain can be a hit-or-miss experience.
I went through a period where I felt slightly ashamed of being a gamer, but then I shook that off and embraced it fully.
I recently started going back to my roots- Sega mostly, Mega Drive and Dreamcast. I purchased a SNES and N64, looking to get a Saturn and Sega CD too.
I mostly collect to play, so a lot of my collection is stand-alone carts, unless it's disc-based and they remain pristine and complete. I finally got my game room into some semblance of order recently, but it still needs some work.
I'm trying to write regularly, so I have a blog that I'm mostly using as a writing exercise- based on Stephen Kings suggestion, from his book "On Writing". My sense of humor might be an acquired taste, but if anyone wants to check it out and give me feedback then I'd be appreciative.
I did much of this forum activity ass-backwards, just started posting and trying to be part of the conversation without much introduction- I hope I didn't ruffle any feathers, just enthusiasm!

Welcome new peoples. There's punch in the foyer, but I think someone ate all the cookies.

Bingo! That's where I actually got the name from- and my Gamertag. It's sits atop one of my home theater speakers, it's baleful gaze filling me with it's dread warmth.

Welcome aboard Fuzzy! Good to see another old school Sega Supporter amidst the ranks. I am a huge Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast supporter with a great collection. Don't you worry about jumping into the fray! Sometimes it is just best to leap in head first and see what happens!

Thanks, will do.
With my Sega collecting, well with all of my collecting, I'm really getting to play the stuff I couldn't play when I was a kid- back when I didn't have anything like "disposable income". So, the Sega CD is pretty high up there. I'd welcome some game recommendations- I already have my eye on Silpheed.

Heh, we've got one of those too. One day I oughta take a pic of our plush shelf.
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Wow, we have plenty of members from Michigan now. We should try and do a Racketboy meetup soon. For now, maybe get over that initial hurdle of mustering the courage to meet people from the interwebz.
