I add Sunset Riders for the Sega Genesis this afternoon!

Many years ago, I bought and played through the Super Nintendo version of Sunset Riders. I enjoyed the game, but it was really incredibly difficult. Despite that, I wanted to pick up the Sega Genesis version as I knew they were different. Well, I wanted to buy a Sega Genesis game recently and after looking through my Wishlist, Sunset Riders excited me the most. I know it won't be easy, but I am very excited to be able to play through the different version. Much the TMNT games on the SNES/GEN, they are mostly the same game, but they changed some things to make them a bit different.

...a bit late with my August pickups, but I think I made some solid additions to my collection. With all of the hype around Baldur's Gate 3, I figured checking out where the series started would be kind of cool. A local game shop also got a Dreamcast collection traded in and when I saw Bass Fishing and Marine Fishing, I grabbed both. I've been looking for the games and wasn't having any luck at other shops or even TooManyGames this year, but finding both still sealed is a win. Now I just need to score the fishing controller.

Awesome, pick-up Markies! While I haven't spent much time with the Genesis version of Sunset Riders, I have it on the SNES and agree with you that it's a difficult game. I've gotten pretty deep into it, but haven't beat it just yet. Enjoy it!

Nice haul, Syndicate! I also haven't played the original Baldur's Gate games and am interested in checking them out. Might pick up that collection on the Switch eventually. I'm surprised to hear you didn't come across the Sega fishing games at Too Many Games, but glad you found them eventually. Good luck with finding the fishing controller as well! It's a pretty unique gaming accessory, which I'd like to grab as well.

My apartment has been packed up the last few months, but I'm finally starting to get things together here, so hopefully I can post my few pick-ups this week!

Lol, I was thinking the same thing. It's always good to see some Elk activity in the thread.

Kung Fury: Street Rage looks fun, hadn't heard of it before. Gotta let us know how it is!

Have you seen the movie it's based on? It's free on YouTube. And if you like it check out Commando Ninja.

I wasn't able to contribute to this thread for a few months with our place packed away due to circumstances out of my control. However, with things finally settled down, we are starting to organize our place again and I'm slowly unpacking my games and can share the few titles I got over the summer.

These are my pick-ups for the month of June! I wasn't able to go out to do much game hunting that month, but I had one good find and some items I pre-ordered online last year finally showed up!

Suikoden II (PS1) - I was able to find the first game earlier in the year and luckily I also came across a copy of the sequel in good shape! I'm looking forward to playing through both of these titles. I heard the second game has a darker tone, which I think I'll be into. Also just love the art style of these games!

Valis Collection [Retro-bit] (GEN) - Since I didn't own the original copies of these games, I figured I would go for the rereleases. I ended up being impressed by the quality of the package altogether. I'm a fan of action platformers and have enjoyed what I've played of Valis and Valis III. I think Syd of Valis is going to be a bit tougher for me to get through, as the controls seemed slippery, but I'm still going to give it a go!

During the month of July I didn't pick up anything, but in August I added a few things to my collection. I had a chance to do some game hunting in Connecticut while visiting my friends. I saw a complete in box Wonderswan which was really tempting but I decided against it. Maybe a mistake? Anyway, here's what I ended up getting in August!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (GEN) - During the prime of the 16-bit consoles, I totally missed this game. I didn't know anyone that owned this title and don't recall ever seeing it in stores. It wasn't until years later when reading up on the Genesis catalog that I realized this game existed. I needed to try it! I had a tough time finding a copy, but ended up winning this one in the recent charity raffle setup by Blu. Thanks to Blu and everyone who participated in the raffle!

BioMetal (SNES) - While checking out a game store in CT with a few friends I spotted this title which I've been interested in for quite a while. I've played a bit through emulation and was pretty impressed. This game is pretty challenging! It's going to take me quite some practice to get through it. For those that have played it -- do you prefer the US or JP soundtrack?

Shining Force manual (GEN) - Not a game of course, but wanted to share this find, as I finally have a complete copy of Shining Force! The cart I have was originally my neighbor's, as we traded games. Years later, I found a case in good shape and now finally the manual. The Shining Force series might be my favorite when it comes to RPGs, so I'm glad to finally have this game completed.

I've played a bit of the Valis games, mostly preferring the TurboGrafx CD/PCCD versions, and I'd LOVE to see either remakes of all four games OR a new Valis game (that is NOT a porn game).
