See, what they ought to do is release a handheld that's - as has been mentioned - between Wii U and PS4 levels of power. Then release a dock of some sort that's on part with the PS4 Neo, maybe. Then release a really expensive dock that's produced in few numbers that is ridiculously more power than the Xbox One Scorpio. It won't happen, of course, but that's my pipe dream for the day.

I don't need to point out the obvious, but plenty of Wii/U games look better than last and current gen stuff. Style can go a long way! Power is great but I think we're a little past that with games nowadays. You need more than graphics to stand out.

As someone who doesn't really care for handheld games due to comfort, and frustrated with how much content stacks up on them... I love the idea of Nintendo making ONE platform for both parties this time around. Which in turn will allow them to focus their dev teams way more and it'll probably be the cheapest system to develop for with the smaller teams, so there might still be tons of great Japanese stuff I'm sure.

Half-n-half Nintendo has put out more first party content than MS/Sony could dream of combined. So to imagine them only having to worry about one platform in the future is exciting to consider.

All of these points are excellent and a great argument for a hybrid. Thanks for that.

I was in a double impact car wreck when I was 18-19 or something. I went the chiropractic route which was a bad choice. Then suffered through four years of non-retail pharmacy tech work which is generally standing idle and looking down at paperwork counting pills for 8-11 hours a day. So my neck was royally fucked up for a long time to say the least, and looking down on dinky screens wasn't something I ever wanted to do.

Outside of the DS's initial run and some fun with friends I couldn't even tell you what I've played on handhelds since then, two exceptions being FFII and FFIV on the PSP. That's all that comes to mind in like 10 years time worth. Some stuff I had on the GBA I just decided to emulate instead.

Now you know why I'm not a fan.

I also see how I worded that post weirdly though so maybe I just confused you.

How photorealistic does Mario's mustache need to be, anyway?

(It's "mustache" and not "moustache"? Man, I've been going the Brit route on that, too.)

I agree with this sentiment. Super Mario 3d World and Mario Kart 8 are great looking games, even if the hardware isn't up to Xbox One or PS4 levels. As a late adopter of the wii u though, I really hope the NX is backwards compatible with my wii u games.

I want to see every individual bead of sweat drip from his glorious moustache (fuck your American way of spelling that word!).

I originally typed "moustache". The spellcheck yelled at me. That's why I looked it up somewhere else, and found out that it's the Brit version. Although I'm pretty positive that I learned it as "moustache". Weird.

When I was in Elementary school, the little store that sold notebooks and pencils was called "Shoppe" which confused the bejesus out of me when I was learning to spell.
