Nope not really lol. There is boss battle music, SF1 has it too, that is different. Otherwise its the same little tune when you go into fighting and the overhead battlefield musicXeogred wrote:Guess that's a good point. Does SF2 change up the music more often?
That's one thing the Tactics Ogre series does well. Feels like there's ~20 different battle themes in rotation with those games.

Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
Im trying to figure out exactly how many mages and healers to have. Currently my force is:
Max, Mae, Guntz, Zylo, Lowe, Luke, Gong, Gort, Khris, Vankar, Domingo, Musashi, and Bleu.
I'm thinking about bringing back either Anri or another healer (Torasu) for Vankar... or bring back Anri for Vankar and replacing one of my healers with Torasu?
Any advise?

I find Lowe pretty much useless by the time there are more than 12 members. He's one of the first to go for me. Gong is pretty good, but Khris is better because she gets Aura2 eventually. That is a real life saver! I'm just about done in chapter 5 and Khris and Gong are my two healers. I'll replace one of them with Torasu once I get that far. Maybe Khris, as Torasu gets up to Aura4... although maybe not, because two healers with Aura spells is be REALLY nice.SpaceBooger wrote:Im trying to figure out exactly how many mages and healers to have. As for someone not having Zylo in their party and having birdmen instead, I say big mistake! Zylo has always been a permanent member of my active party. He's just awesome.

I don't use a lot of healers honestly. I stock up all my characters with healing herbs anyway.

Laser Eye is easy. Just wait a few rounds and it damages most of the enemies for you.

Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
I switched Vankar for Anri and Gong for Torasu. I am on battle 27 and am calling it a night. With only 3 more battles to go I want to start fresh since battle 27 is causing me some problems... I think I will grind here for a bit to get every character who is not level 15 (remember I didn't promote anyone until level 20 so they might seem behind) to level 15+.Breetai wrote:I find Lowe pretty much useless by the time there are more than 12 members. Re: Together Retro: Shining Force
I didn't find 26 too hard. All of the robots were taken out by one or two hits with only one or two characters taking damage.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Any tips for Battle 26?
For the king I put Mae and Guntz two spaces to the left and right with Musashi and one of the gladiators to the immediate left and right. Max was directly in front of the king and Anri behind Max.
The king went down after Anri used Freeze 4 (30-40hp) and one hit from the other characters mentioned.
Also something I didn't realize until tonight - many weapons (the special ones) can be used as items too. ex: The Sword of Light can be used to attack with Bolt2, and the Chaos Breaker Freeze3.
