The Gamecube version just has some extra battles, quests, a new super boss, and a couple of other things here and there. It's pretty much superior to the Dreamcast version, although many feel that the soundtrack on the GC version is a tad inferior due to slightly modified music.

I say Dreamcast.

The extra content on the GC doesn't thrill me too much, and the sound is much worse. I think the DC original has more random battles though - which can get tedious.

DC version is cheaper.

^ They're both quite pricey. Which is why I want to make sure I'm getting more bang for my buck and getting the better version.

I haven't played the DS version, but I've considered it because I have a DSi XL and that won't send the cursor flying across the screen all the time.

The PSP has a higher-resolution screen and the sound is slightly better too. Incredible game either way.
I've heard it plays better with the DS touch screen, but that the PSP controls OK, and is a bit prettier. I think most edge towards DS, but I haven't tried either.
Well, maybe I should just get it on both, haha. My PSP is broken and I need to get another one. I have a 3DS. I'll probably get it on DS first then get it on PSP as soon as I get a new one.

I own both but like the Gamecube version maybe a little better. The Dreamcast random battles are a real pain. Walk two steps and another battle sometimes.

A majority of those extra features and content found on the GCN version are also available on the Dreamcast via DLC contect, which by the way is still attainable over the web so its by no means exclusive to that port. The sound quality on GCN is noticeably inferior compared to Dreamcast. More importantly so is the games visuals as the Dreamcast version supports 640x480 resolution with the use of a VGA peripheral which results in pretty remarkable picture quality.

I say Dreamcast without question.

The Dreamcast version of Skies definitely has better sound and music quality.
But get the GameCube version if the price isn't too steep; I feel the extra content and the less frequent random encounters are worth it.

Plus, the GameCube doesn't tell you when you're going to have a random battle.
The Dreamcast will make a WHIRRRRRRRRRR-EEEEEEEEEEEEEE noise a few seconds before a battle. Every-single-time.

I also prefer the Dreamcast controller, though that's a matter of personal preference.

Either way you can't go wrong - fantastic game.

Symphony of the Night - PSP or PSN?

I already own the PSP version that comes with Dracula X Chronicle's. But I bought that before hearing that the PSP version changes item placements and "update's" the voice acting.

The PSN version is the original version, and cheap enough that I might not mind buying it. So are their other differences in the PSP version I haven't heard of yet? And how does the changed item placement effect the overall experience?
