Yes. I'd tell you more, but then I'd have to kill you. hmm. Okay. Just so you're aware, I've only used my brain to come up with me answers...
EDIT: I realized this sounded harsh. It was meant as a joke.

Hmmm, I focused on the M word too and thought of "Jump" but my search on Mobygames returned nothing that fit. I also thought of Home, Game, etc. - nada.

I was focusing on the first word, and obviously did not come up with "Eddie."

and we only have about 8 more days before the contest ends. i do think your answer is correct, it's the only one that make sense out there.MrPopo wrote: Yes. I'd tell you more, but then I'd have to kill you. Your lead over me is already larger than I'd like.

seems to me that even if it's not what they were after, it's obviously an acceptable answer...sevin0seven wrote:and we only have about 8 more days before the contest ends. i do think your answer is correct, it's the only one that make sense out there.MrPopo wrote: Yes. If Mobygames (or another game DB) supported regexps, the fill in the blank questions would just be a matter of speed.
Yeah, I'm not sure how cat/type helped either. Seems that the file could have been searched without the need for dumping to a console first. But since I am pretty unfamiliar with varying usages, I have no idea.
If any of these game DBs allow you to dump all the game names in a text file, you could simply run a search with regexps and get it narrowed down in no time.
But then again, this way requires no retro knowledge.

maybe we should skip the fill in the blanks if they can be potentially won just through superior programming knowledge...

I guess I agree, though I don't think I should be stripped of my fill-in-the-blanks that I came up with fair n square. Hell, even PoPo should get to keep his even if that is how he came up with it.dsheinem wrote:maybe we should skip the fill in the blanks if they can be potentially won just through superior programming knowledge...
