But honestly, pretty much all my handeld gaming is done before bed in low light while my wife is sleeping. I just don't see this thing getting a whole lot of use. I don't know... :?

You're not allowed to sell it until you get Match of the Millennium. That would be like a Game Boy owner not owning Tetris. Trust me on this, noise; just wait until you get your hands on that game. It WILL be worth it.

It feels just as good as some of the Takara GB games I've played. And I don't know. I'm not really that impressed in general? Like, it's good. But nothing amazing to me. Is that weird. I just kind of feel like "oh yeah this is good" but not sure it's something I see myself actively collecting now. Thoughts?

Well... wow. I... I don't really know what to say... I've... never met someone who didn't love that game after playing it. :? I guess if you don't like the fighters on the system, then there isn't any major reason to keep it. That's alright, then. It's just really weird; like I said, every single person I showed the game to before thought it was great, even people who had never played a fighting game before. I don't have a problem if you don't like it, but it just felt like a real shock to me. Oh, well. If you really feel that you don't have any interest in the system, then just sell it. No sense keeping it around if you're not going to use it...

again I don't dislike it. I think it's a very good game. But I mean having played Battle Arena Toshinden on GB for instance, and other fighting games that Takara had done for GB, I guess it's not leaps and bounds better than other 8bit portable fighters I've played before. Really, I was like "oh yeah that is cool. It's a lot like those GB games I loved." And it has Morrigan, which is great.

I THINK the major problem is timing though my dear lover of lisa. Remember, I'm picking this up a mere two months after getting my Dreamcast and going on a bit of a crash course in near-arcade perfect 2D fighters. I think that if that weren't the case, I may be a lot more receptive to this.

I don't know. That's why I'm on the fence. Will it just do nothing for me? Or will I end up getting into it? I guess that's why I can't decide if I should part with it yet.

If you think it's just bad timing, then just hang on to it. It's not like you're losing anything by keeping it. There are a lot of unique and fun games on the NGPC, and I am almost certain none of the system's games were ported to other systems (despite many of them being re-imaginings of console games). When I got the system, it came with 6 of its best games, so I had a great first impression of the handheld. I loved MotM in particular because it was so approachable, stylish, and most importantly, fun. So much more so than any fighter I had played prior or since. Not to mention all the extras like the mini-games in coliseum mode, or the Dreamcast connectivity to the console version of the game.

Imo, I think that the NGPC has the best library of fighters of any handheld. I even got a psp just for fighting games and ended up selling it since the NGPC fighters play better and not being resorted to use a shitty analog like on the psp.

I like a lot of the PSP fighters... Darkstalkers Chronicle, Guilty Gear, Street Fighter Alpha 3...

Hmm.

Well, the NGPC has Dark Arms, which is a hack-n-slash akin to Diablo or Phantasy Star Online. But with your PSP, you can jsut get Phantasy Star Universe.

Golf game Neo Turf Masters is as addicting as golf on Wii Sports... really superducking addictive. Though you eventually realize you're playing Wii Sports.

While I also agree Sonic Pocket Adventure is good, the 2D "episodes" of Sonic are also good and will be more modern.

I still stand behind RPG Biomotor Unitron and strategy game Faselei!. While Pokemon/Digimon/Monster Rancher share similarities to Unitron, Biomotor is still a worthwhile if somewhat simple game; it also introduces you to its better looking (Japanese-exclusive, but playable) sequel. There is no equivalent to Faselei! unless you mixed Squaresoft series Front Mission with boardgame Robo Rally.

If you can get into Japanese games, Neo Poke Kun is funny and Ogre Battle Gaiden should be familiar if you've played Ogre Battle 64.

And there is Match of the Millenium with its plethora of unlockables, mini-games, and three-engine physics... but again, modern portable fighters like Street Fighter Alpha, King of Fighters, Darkstalkers, and if Marvel vs Capcom 1 or 2 get a PSP remake, that'll be the third engine. Plus mini-games that come on smartphones.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

I'd love to have one just to play CFC2 in ENGLISH on actual hardware. He has sold a few beta units and will be selling more units once the bugs are worked out.

Here's a video he made recently:

A few months ago, he finished his project and made a bunch of carts that he's selling at his website: http://ngpc.freeplaytech.com/

They're around $130 each.

I just find it neat if you can get one, you can hook it up to your Dreamcast on games like Capcom vs. SNK and KOF 99 (for DC) and you can unlock stuff and download extra features!

Don't sell your NGPC, noise. For starters, you won't get much money for a used NGPC as new boxed ones are still available for $60+. Also, have you tried any of the RPGs? I like Dark Arms, Evolution, and Dive Alert.

Finally, SNK Gals Fighters is boss.

I got a black version of one of these and I'm loving it. I don't have Match of the Millennium yet, I bought a bundle of games off eBay that included:

-Metal Slug: 2nd Mission
-King of Fighters R-2
-Pocket Tennis Color
-Fatal Fury 1st Contact
-Dark Arms
-SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash Capcom Version
-Puzzle Bobble Mini
-Dive Alert Matt Version
-Puzzle Link 2
-Pachi Slot Aruze Oukoku Pocket: Oohanabi

I played a little bit of King of Fighters R-2, Fatal Fury, and Puzzle Bobble Mini before trying out Card Fighters Clash. That was a big mistake because I got absorbed in that for several hours.

I also bought the Neo Geo Pocket Flash Cart And Linker (http://ngpc.freeplaytech.com/) mentioned. Figured it would be a better investment instead of hunting down Gals' Fighters and Rockman: Battle & Fighters, along with the added benefit of downloading homebrew and potentially developing for the system in the future on my own. Plus Flavor (the guy behind the majority of it AFAIK) seems really cool so it's great to be able to support his work.

The main things I'm after now are a NGPC-to-NGPC link cable (seems to be hard to find, any hints here would be much appreciated), an AC adapter, and some CR2032 batteries. I also wish I had something like this to stream games from the NGPC:
