Our special tonight is DEVIL FISH with satanic stringbeans and deep lucifered potatoes!

Look for Pitfall II (2600) in the movie!

Watched "The Prestige" again on Sunday night. I adore this movie - so well done. I'm not a huge fan of Michael Caine, Scarlet Johannsen or Hugh Jackman (I do like Christian Bale), but the movie is bigger than all of them and the casting works. David Bowie in a limited role as Tesla is actually quite excellent.

The movie leads up to not one, but two massive reveals, one right after the other, both of which leave you asking yourself a lot of questions - it's a bit invigorating and unsettling at the same time. This is the 4th time i've watched the movie now and it's as good as ever. Once you know the reveals - it makes a 2nd and 3rd viewing just as good, but from a different perspective and you really appreciate the pacing and setups that Christopher Nolan pulled off. An excellent film if you haven't seen it.

Oh, the movie is about partner and then rival magicians in the late 1800's.

definitely.

THANK YOU!

Pretty sure I've mentioned this before, but I have bought a drink for Jamie Presley, and on the same night I saw her vomit in public.

Have to name drop, because how often do you have the opportunity to hang out with Jamie Presley? Apparently she is in town a lot as she grew up in Kinston, but I've only seen her once irl.

And dude... A handful of times in my life I have met someone so good looking that I am almost rendered speechless (strangely, one time this happened with a dude. No sexual feelings, just a "Dammit! Why can't I look like you?"). Some people are amazingly *insert Zoolander ref* good looking, and she is one of them.

Felt like I needed permission to even look at her.

....and now I sound like a perv.

tldr/ She is so gorgeous that her looks are intimidating.

The best Jennifer is Connelly anyway. Although there are a lot of cute Jennifers, such as Hewitt and Lawrence.

Yeah the movie itself is a great magic trick. Lots of misdirection as you watch. Worth seeing over and over and over again that is for sure. One of my favorite movies. So much fun!

Such a stunning woman. Crushed on her when I saw LABYRINTH, and besides her scenes involving double dildos, she's usually gorgeous (really, really pretty in HULK).

How dare you compare Jennifer Lawrence to a "thing"? The nerve.

Jennifer Lawrence... A THING!!!!!!??????

*relaxes with a cup of tea and ponders a solution*

Got it!

Jenifer Lawrence = An amalgam of beauty, talent, sarcasm, and a woman that projects a persona that flips of the companies that pay her.

The Final Sanction

The United States and the Soviet Union have engaged in a nuclear exchange, devastating the first lines of defense for both nations. In an attempt to prevent further exchange on population centers, the two world powers decide instead to pit their best soldiers in a one-on-one contest to see who is top dog. In the Soviet Union, the Russians pick Sgt. Sergi Schvackov(Robert Z'Dar), a super soldier with a photographic memory and shovel-throwing skills to rival his impressive jawline. In the United States, Sgt. Tom Batanic(Ted Prior) is selected, a former special forces soldier who was court-martialed after his squad attempted to assassinate the US Secretary of State and he was blamed. Now these two monstrous killing machines are forced to go head-to-head with the weapons of their choosing in an attempt to prevent absolute nuclear annihilation. But someone is secretly pulling their strings...

...or not so secretly. Turns out high ranking officers on both sides want to kill both of them to show the futility of war or something. Either way, Tom and Sergi end up teaming up after a series of awkward training montages and bad acting. I learned that apparently the Soviets train their troops through suicide simulators, while in America we implant microphones in people's chest cavities. And nobody can act. Z'Dar's work here is particularly painful among the leads, often losing his Russian accent or simply lapsing into what I think is a bad Scottish one. He's not the only offender though; the Russian Major comes and goes, and all of the "Russians" try to speak in a whisper constantly. But the worst acting of the film goes to the US Senator's secretary, who emotes about as well as a toilet seat. Thankfully she gets killed off about half an hour in.

I know what you're thinking: "So the acting sucks, Ack. Why should I watch this?"

Explosions.

Once things get going, it's pure Prior and Z'Dar screaming and firing from the hip as shit blows up around them and they get badly-constructed injuries. I learned that Chiclets can be used to help heal bullet wounds. And throwing shovels is a really effective tactic in war. Dig it?

Also, Sergi likes all women!

How do these sorts of movies get made? Do the people making them think they're good?

I'll stop you there.

Every movie is a gamble, and the people with the money to go all in usually make the decisions.

Case in point, PLUTO NASH.
