And not an 8 track recorder. It seemed pretty obvious to me.
if the vocals put you off then you should listen to
any of Ulver's other albums. the vocals on the other records are more "accessible." this is the only one that sounds the way it does. i love the production though, it's almost hypnotizing. i really doubt they recorded it in a forest, however. still sounds cool

noiseredux wrote:that cover art is amazing! Wow. I haven't kept up with Necro since Prefix For Death/Sexorcist era really.
I don't think I've ever met anyone that preferred It Was Written. I like it a lot, but Illmatic is... Illmatic. Haha. But I can respect yr opinion. I can see why you'd like it so much anyway.
Necro's history starting after Prefix For Death/Sexorcist was

which has some great songs like
Keep on Driving and
No Remorse and then
which is an alright release with songs like
Thugcore Cowboy and
asBESTos and then he got sued by Ani DiFranco for sampling her song for his song
Asshole Anthem and had to withdraw the album from itunes and stores and since then has been somewhat MIA until news of the callboration with Kool G Rap and his new EP came out.
As far as the
It Was Written and
Illmatic debate, it's a close call but I just find the album just more enjoyable plus it was the first instance of his ego's of Nasty Nas and Nas Escobar.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' sampler for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack.
I think it was unnecessary to make this movie since the original was so good, but I love Trent, so I'm happy to have some new output from him.

I have and enjoy all of NIN's stuff and was debating getting the CD of the soundtrack through NIN.com. How is it?

^ I gotta get that. The score for Social Network was amazing.
I'm listening to Watch The Throne for the 3000th time this year.

Of the 6 sampler tracks, only one sounds like something different. It's an anxiously percussive and slightly glitchy track called Oraculum. Most everything else sounds like it would fit on the Ghosts album: very minimal beats and melodies, droning ambient noises, and shuffling sound effects. I don't really care for it much, to be honest, though it will probably work in the context of the film. Nevertheless, I pre-ordered the album, like a sucker, because I'm like that for Reznor.

Never been a fan of Necro, I like his production but his rapping is awful. After seeing him live in the Czech Republic after Talib Kweli was on stage, he was very disappointing.
I'm currently listening to this. A lot.
