What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
The Green Slime. Holy shit. This movie is EVERYTHING I WANT in a cheesy sci-fi monster movie. I don't feel I need to say anything else, but it is essential viewing for fans of cheese!
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
The new Mission Impossible is pretty fun! The franchise has had a strong track record, and this film is as good as any of the others in the series thus far...

Red Robin is serving a Terminator themed "Genysis Burger". Makes total sense as when you think about the Terminator franchise the first thing you think of is a hamburgers and avocados.
And if you want to destroy any chance of seeming suave you can also order a T-800 cocktail.
Such a slack and weird promotion.

I haven't seen any of them except the first one, and the only things I remember about that one is first the entire team dies, then he uses explosive gum, then he does the suspension thing to hack into the computer.dsheinem wrote:The new Mission Impossible is pretty fun! Will I be missing anything if I go see the new one?

Nothing important, no. They all generally stand alone with just minor call backs to the others.MrPopo wrote:I haven't seen any of them except the first one, and the only things I remember about that one is first the entire team dies, then he uses explosive gum, then he does the suspension thing to hack into the computer.dsheinem wrote:The new Mission Impossible is pretty fun! Explosions, another divorce, and more cosmetic surgery.MrPopo wrote: Will I be missing anything if I go see the new one?
The MI franchise is fun, but terribly forgettable.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Good call on Mission Impossible. Definitely a fun summer movie, and I even managed to guess wrong who Ethan was impersonating with a mask.
I really don't understand the Polygon review of the movie, though. He complains about the opening, saying it doesn't have anything to do with the movie. It was a classic Bond opener that serves to show how much of a super spy he is. The reviewer must have been some punk kid who's only seen the Daniel Craig movies.

Obligatory re-watch, seeing as it's the 30th anniversary today of the films release.

Singer. Your Apocalypse. Woof.
Not that it won't work, but I figured Apocalypse would and should look like HR Geiger's version of the Hulk. Huge, brooding, dark, with an industrial feel.
Sure, it depends on the character and not how the character looks, but yeesh. Someone with the name Apocalypse should make you quiver with fear with only his appearance. This guy isn't even Thanos-light, he looks laughable.
But I love a movie that stars a talking Racoon, so we'll see.

Part of the problem is that he really does look like a Power Rangers villain.Luke wrote:Singer. Your Apocalypse. Woof.
