By the way, I've been saving some Intellivision games for you - in case you ever did get one. Well your wife got 'em all for you.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Thanks, Bone! I am very pleased with the new games, and I look forward to starting up yet another collection! (I am also looking forward to hitting up my favorite game hunting location later this week to see what Intellivision games it has in stock!)
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"

I understand what you are saying but given my limited lifetime , I can only play certain number of ps2 games, just the cream of the cropAppleQueso wrote:PSN and HD remakes will cover a good chunk of the popular games on the system, but it really only scratches the surface of what the console has to offer.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
So they didn't have any PS2 backward compatible systems when I went back in
. However they did have another fatty PS3 with a 160gb hard drive it was marked at $200. I offered to pay the sticker price difference between the two which was $50(other one had originally been $100 after they gave me $50 off). However the clerk who I know pretty well refused to charge me any more then $10
. Yet another reason I love the Tri-State Pawn & Jewelry chain.
So $110 for a 160gb PS3 fatty. Plus when I got home I tested it out and found a copy of Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm was left inside
.
Edit:
While there are a lot of good remakes coming out there are still some pretty great great games that haven't gotten ports yet such as Kingdom Hearts 2. Also there were around 3-4 thousand games released for the PS2 so there are a large variety of unique games that will probably never get a re release.
PS2 systems go for around $20-30 in the pawns around here so it's about the cheapest system on the market. Store I went to had a really nice fatty PS2 for $20 but I already have a spare I need to sell myself
.

Edit:
At the pawn shop chain that I frequent the price is $3 for any PS2,Xbox, or GC games. Occasionally they will grab a well known valuable game and mark it up, but they usually don't bother since they pay around $0.50-$0.75 for older games. One of their stores just charges $2 per older game and another has had a Buy 2 Get 1 Sale going on for about a month now so I wouldn't be surprised if they all swap over to $2 soon.RCBH928 wrote:How much is the average price range of ps2 games by now?wclem wrote: PS2 in HDMI and wireless controllers and smoothing is nice too!!!
I never owned a ps2 and had plans on getting the slim model but due to my lack of money and time (big backlog) + many of the best games are available for lower prices and in HD remakes on the PSN store I see no reason to purchase a dedicate ps2 .

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Sounds like you got a fat model with a hard drive upgrade. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I do not think they made a 160 GB fat model. Throw a PS2 game in that bad boy or look up the model number. Call me an ass if I am wrong on this if it pleases anyone!!Fragems wrote:So they didn't have any PS2 backward compatible systems when I went back in. It's a CECHP01 that was released in November 2008. No PS2 compatibility sadly but it's still a nice system for $110. Now if only i could get it configured for my wireless network
. Routers currently being a bitch about letting it online

Basically any model with 4 USB ports should have some compatibility. Good to know, thanks!

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
That's a good attitude to have, but the best PS2 games are mostly not in HD collections or on PSN. Gradius V and Valkyrie Profile 2, for example.RCBH928 wrote:I understand what you are saying but given my limited lifetime , I can only play certain number of ps2 games, just the cream of the cropAppleQueso wrote:PSN and HD remakes will cover a good chunk of the popular games on the system, but it really only scratches the surface of what the console has to offer.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Picked up 36 NES games plus Nintendo storage cases for the very tidy sum of $75. It's getting harder and harder to find good deals on NES stuff, so I feel particularly lucky about this deal.
The highlight of the lot is Dusty Diamond's All-Star Baseball, but the list is as follows:
Abadox
Back to the Future
Back to the Future II & III
Baseball
Batman
Blades of Steel
Castlevania III
Clash at Demonhead
Days of Thunder
Dusty Diamond's All Star Softball
DIG DUG 2
Double Dragon
Double Dribble
Dr. Mario
Fester's Quest
Ghostbusters II
Golf
Gyruss
Ice Hockey
Jeopardy
Jordan vs Bird
Joust
Life Force
Lode Runner
Magic Johnson's Fast Break
Megaman 2
R.C. Pro Am
Renegade
Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt
Super Mario Bros.
Superspike V-Ball
Tecmo Baseball
Tecmo Bowl
Ultimate Basketball
Wheel of Fortune
Wrecking Crew
