You know I used to be that guy. I would go to all the thrift stores spend about 2 hrs a day looking taking every game and then research and see if it's worth anything or not and put all the crappy games away. Then one day a guy beat me to it and had some nice nes games. I started to talk to him and said those are nice games and he was just saying that he just sells the games and don't play them well I offered him double what he was paying for the games because I actually wanted contra and mega man 2 and mega man 4 for my collection. The guy goes 20.00 a piece that's what they go for. I said your buying them at 3.00 a piece your doubling your money if I give you 6.00. He turned out to be the biggest dick I ever meet and told me that he's got bills to pay. How else am I going to make money? I told him to get a job.o.pwuaioc wrote:Snatch1414 wrote:I also don't like when people are looking up prices on their phone right in front of whoever is selling. Maybe it's personal opinion but I think it's just rude whether you're planning to resell or not. I have a pretty good feel for more or less what games are worth on a lot of systems just from research, so it's no different than what I'm doing in my head before I buy, but I at least don't stand there basically saying "I'm interested, but hold on I have to make sure I'm going to swindle you here."
After dealing with him and seeing outside of the box I started to hate people like him who was once me. If I ever go to a savers and I see nes games like contra or castlevania I just leave it now. If I know I wont play it then I'm not buying it to start the habit all over again. Unless its like little Samson or maybe something I will never get again then yeah but other than that I just leave it on the shelf hopes that a gamer will actually get it for their collection.
After driving all day wasting gas and hurting your car for a week straight just to pick up a couple games to me is not worth it anymore. I think it's just cheaper to buy the thing on amazon or ebay or craigslist.
