Maybe it's personal opinion but I think it's just rude whether you're planning to resell or not. I have a pretty good feel for more or less what games are worth on a lot of systems just from research, so it's no different than what I'm doing in my head before I buy, but I at least don't stand there basically saying "I'm interested, but hold on I have to make sure I'm going to swindle you here."
You know I used to be that guy. I would go to all the thrift stores spend about 2 hrs a day looking taking every game and then research and see if it's worth anything or not and put all the crappy games away. Then one day a guy beat me to it and had some nice nes games. I started to talk to him and said those are nice games and he was just saying that he just sells the games and don't play them well I offered him double what he was paying for the games because I actually wanted contra and mega man 2 and mega man 4 for my collection. The guy goes 20.00 a piece that's what they go for. I said your buying them at 3.00 a piece your doubling your money if I give you 6.00. He turned out to be the biggest dick I ever meet and told me that he's got bills to pay. How else am I going to make money? I told him to get a job.
After dealing with him and seeing outside of the box I started to hate people like him who was once me. If I ever go to a savers and I see nes games like contra or castlevania I just leave it now. If I know I wont play it then I'm not buying it to start the habit all over again. Unless its like little Samson or maybe something I will never get again then yeah but other than that I just leave it on the shelf hopes that a gamer will actually get it for their collection.
After driving all day wasting gas and hurting your car for a week straight just to pick up a couple games to me is not worth it anymore. I think it's just cheaper to buy the thing on amazon or ebay or craigslist.

It wasn't that so much it was how he said and his actions. If he was nice about it then I would of been cool but when his tone changed and how he was loud that's what made him a dick

Hit the fleas today and got some interesting stuff. Spent a little less then $100. Best deal was the Nintendo 64 lot with 16 N64 games plus Donkey Kong Classic for $50. Still trying to keep myself from hoarding up to much so I'm probably just going to keep Pocket Fighter and Onimusha Dawn of Dreams.

Someone has some old inventory from a video store apparently so I got some interesting PS1 titles on the cheap. Pocket Fighter looks pretty awesome so I'm probably going to hold onto it.

Not a huge DBZ fan but remembered a few people around here were into them plus I hadn't heard of these two so I bundled them with a Onimusha Dawn of Dreams and The Godfather Black Hand Edition for a decent price. Needed Dawn of Dreams to complete my PS2 Onimusha Collection. Only Onimusha game i don't have on PS2 now is Blade Warriors but it is more of a spin off so I'm in no rush to pick it up.

For whatever reason I am drawn to demo discs and stuff like this :P. Was in pretty decent shape so I picked it up.

Found this to be a pretty interesting hand held game. Picked it up for $1 just to see what it was like. It looks pretty cool and the audio effects are good, but the game itself isn't to interesting. Just a basic wait and fire game.

Not a huge fan of the red cover art interesting choice for BLACKHAND edition.

That's why, if you own a video game store, I would get one of those cell phone signal blockers and put it at the entrance and at the cash register areas so people can't look stuff up on their phones.

Though when I look stuff up on my phone, it's more if I have X game in my collection or not as I tend to forget.

Yeah that wouldn't go over well.

I would just be open and honest as a reseller about pricing and be open to negotiation. As a buyer I'm willing to pay 5% over eBay in a brick & mortar on an item I really want. I can touch it, see condition, and get it now. There's something to be said for that.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Really the way I feel is if I were a store owner I wouldn't mind price checkers they are buying stuff from my store at the prices I marked them at. However there would be no haggling/bundling going on what so ever with the guys and if they were being obnoxious or fat assing the game section constantly I would probably kick them out of the store.

In other words I'm fine with people price checking as long as they aren't doing it in excess or being assess about it. However people rude enough to bring laptops to price check can hit the road. Only seen this once but it pissed me off immensely. Not only did they fatass the DS games for about an hour but they also completely blocked view of an entire display case while they did it :P.

It's actually not looking to bad right now. Just reorganized my sale inventory and collection. I do have a fair amount of boxes in my room at the moment though. Need to do another eBay purge :P.

My Collection.
Need to update my collection thread before it gets messy again :P.

PS2 collection along with some loose disc and Game Boy stuff on the bottom.

Atari Collection which resides under my bed lol.

Basically everything in my collection that I don't have shelf space for :P. Everything aside form PS2 and last Gen games.

Excess game accumulation / sale thread stuff :P.

PS2 got its own tower after I weeded some stuff out of my collection :P.

Those shelves in the second pic are amazing.

I tried under-the-bed storage but my bed isn't high enough.

I've had to resort to cardboard boxes too. :?
